Wow! What an incredible night we had at our New Borns New Norms antenatal event last night! 🤩

We had a fantastic turnout on a very dark and rainy evening; thank you so much to everyone who attended. Also a big thank you to our lovely host One Strawberry Lane

We wanted to share some of the wonderful feedback which we received:

🌟"I am glad my mam and mother in law got to hear some up to date guidance, how to helpfully support and also unhelpful things to say. I think it was really helpful for that to come from someone else knowledgeable and not necessarily from me!"

🌟"I thought the woman presenting came across as very open and friendly, the environment felt supportive and that I could ask questions freely. I didn't feel nervous in that environment with the staff that were present."

🌟"Interactive, informative and well presented by a great team."

🌟 "The fact it was held after working hours was extremely helpful, it has been the only class my partner has been able to attend. It adjusted my expectations of normal baby behaviour, normalised them and was really helpful and informative- thank you!"

Both our Fawdon Breastfeeding social group and our Kenton pregnancy social group will take place at the North Museum: Hancock as part of

The sessions will run all day between 10am-4pm on a drop in basis! We would love to see you there 🤱🤰

We are so excited that our FREE fun and interactive antenatal myth busting session- "New Borns; New Norms" is returning this November as part of ! If you are a new parent or adding to your growing brood we would love you to join us.
We know that EVERYONE has their own opinions about raising a baby- but what does the evidence actually say? Bring your nearest and dearest; partners, grandparents, friends & family along to tackle some of the most common myths, and explore what really helps babies to thrive.

The perfect mix of learning, laughter and real talk to help you feel confident and supported as you prepare for parenthood. This time we will be hosted by the fabulous One Strawberry Lane ; a state of the art venue right in the centre of town with refreshments provided!

⭐️ WE ARE CLOSED BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 25TH AUGUST ⭐️

This includes our support line, and the pregnancy and breastfeeding groups that run from The Health Resource Centre on Monday.

If you need urgent support with your pregnancy, please contact your midwife, health visitor or GP.

We will be back in the office from 9am on Tuesday 26th.

Helen H from the Best Start Team and Alison from the Community Wellbeing Pathfinder Service were at the Newburn Parish Eco Fair on Saturday 💚
We love being out and about in the community, speaking to local people about our services and how we aim to look after not only pregnant and breastfeeding families, but the planet too! 🌏

If you are interested in getting involved in the work we do, and have experience with breastfeeding, we are recruiting for the last couple of spaces on our September cohort of volunteer training! Did you know you can attend FREE antenatal classes to learn about all things labour and delivery, infant feeding, and how to look after your baby when they arrive?

They are held in the community family hubs at -

⭐ Byker Sands
⭐ Galafield - Newbiggin Hall
⭐ Fawdon Children's Centre
⭐ Health Resource Centre - Benwell

They are a wonderful opportunity to get up to date information and ask questions. You can bring your partner or anyone who is supporting you in your pregnancy, and it's not just for first time m**s!

On Friday we completed our spring cohort of volunteer peer support training, we have seven new pregnancy and breastfeeding support volunteers who will make a real difference to families in Newcastle!❤️

Our peer support training is a fantastic chance to expand your knowledge, increase your confidence and most importantly to help other families who are pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Our volunteers are invaluable to our service and we could not have the reach we do without them 😍

We are now recruiting for our next course of training in September, which will be running on Fridays at The Haven in Kenton, for around 12 weeks.
