Joining my fellow herbalists in divesting from Israel agriculture by boycotting & 🚫🚫🚫 Grateful to for this call to action and ongoing efforts to hold these huge cooperations accountable for their violent colonization of land & resources. 🚫🚫🚫

🍂🫶🏾🍂This weekend I am looking forward to being in amazing company of herbalists & land stewards for the Community Banquet 🍂🫶🏾🍂 From 12-4pm at the Concrete Plant Park there will activities to engage around rest restoration efforts for the Bronx River, community partners, herbalism & plant walks. Join me & as we make herbal Hydrosols using plants forages right at the Concrete plant park. 💦This Banquet is free and open to all! 🫶🏾

Knowledge Share Description

The life of Abolitionist Harriet Tubman is one of liberation and incredible ecological knowledge. Her relationship to the land and her understanding of bioregional herbalism was one of the many skills Harriet used in rescuing enslaved people. Harriet’s herbal practice was embedded in her journeys to liberation and are just becoming more commonly known. In this knowledge share we will learn about Tubman's role as one of the most important herbalists of her time while also learning ways to tap into and reclaim our own relationship with plants though developing deep plant connections and a bioregional herbalist approach.

We will

🍂learn the historical context of Harriet Tubman's herbal practice
🍂learn Bioregional Herbalism Knowledge of specific plants in Harriet Tubman's Practice
🍂learn to develop a bioregional herbalism practice

Cost

$35 - low income

$50 - standard

A beautiful plant filled weekend connecting with community in the garden. 🌱🌱🌱 Kicked off the weekend at the magical teaching my last build your own Herbarium workshop of the season. Was wonderful to press plants from the bounty of herbs growing. Thank you Susan & .roots.herbal for having me back again and the beautiful folks who attended. 💐 Then we hosted a fall plant distribution with at my community garden in Harlem 🍂🥬🫛 Loved meeting all the local community gardens and their youth team did such a wonderful job making it all run so smoothly! We have so many extra plants to Id love to share so please message me if your interested. 🫶🏾 Truly just feel my best when i’m in nature with wonderful people so 10/10.

Sweet Sweet honey 🍯 thank you to everyone who came out to make herb infused honey yesterday at 🌱 We made sweet infusions with chamomile, hibiscus, cinnamon, goldenrod & rose 🌹 A lovely afternoon in the garden! This was my last workshop for BBG this summer. But stay tuned for future dates later this year. 🌱 Grateful to all the folks I have connected with this summer through teaching at 🙏🏾

Thank you to all who came to part 1 of Pressing Plants for Preservation workshop yesterday at 🌸🌸🌸 Thank you to the staff at the Children’s Garden for allowing us to harvest flowers, herbs and leaves for pressings from their collection, so special! 🌼🌱🌼 Then we prepared everyone’s plant specimen for the press. Next time we will be mounting everyone’s plant specimens into official herbarium sheets! 🍃
