Last night I had the privilege of being the guest speaker at Leopold Primary School’s Male Influencer event and wow, what a night.

I spoke to 77 men!! The biggest crowd I’ve ever shared my story with about the journey to fatherhood through IVF and the importance of vulnerability (and cried in front of)!

The respect and openness in that room were incredible. To every man who showed up, listened, and reflected: thank you. It takes courage to lean into those conversations, and your presence reminded me why I do this work.

Si Moore joined Keith and I for a chat on Thursday. He is a local nurse who started his working life as a climate scientist. After having a child of his own he realised there was a need that wasn't being met in supporting new dads. So he has set about doing something about it. He has run a program called Strong Dads over the past 2 years, as well as a Man with a Pram event in Leopold and has a goal of having a "Dad's Nurse" in maternity hospital settings.
