Heal Her Heart Heal Her Heart offers safe, supportive spaces to share your story and continue your healing journey. Heal Her Heart exists to remind you that it isn’t.

Surviving trauma can change your life in ways that are hard to put into words. For many people, one of the most difficult parts is feeling alone—like no one would understand, and like speaking up isn’t an option. That silence can be heavy, and it can make healing feel out of reach. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors through safe, compassionate spaces where healing is honoured and connection is possible. Through expressive and holistic healing practices, therapeutic programming and workshops, and compassionate individual and group support, we are working to shift the narrative for women navigating trauma—toward one that centers healing, dignity, and wholeness.

Heal Her Heart has been taking some time to rest, reflect, and realign behind the scenes — honouring the same healing, boundaries, and self-care we often encourage others to practice. We’ve missed you and we can’t wait to return with renewed energy, intention, and offerings.
We’ll be back in 2026 with more heart-led content, connection, and healing spaces.

DBT SKILL: OPPOSITE ACTION

🩷 Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but has been specifically modified for those seeking strategies to manage challenging emotions and triggers, develop techniques to feel safe, and navigate difficult situations as they arise.

🩷 DBT includes four skill modules; with two acceptance-oriented skills (Mindfulness and Distress Tolerance) and two change-oriented skills (Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness).

🩷 Opposite Action is an Emotion Regulation skill used to help you identify whether or not your actions make sense in the moment & how to manage them.

🩷 Use Opposite Action when the emotions do not fit the facts.

💚 Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but has been specifically modified for those seeking strategies to manage challenging emotions and triggers, develop techniques to feel safe, and navigate difficult situations as they arise.

💚 DBT includes four skill modules; with two acceptance-oriented skills (Mindfulness and Distress Tolerance) and two change-oriented skills (Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness).

💚 STOP is a Distress Tolerance still that can be used in times of crisis or high emotional states.

💚 Stop, Take a Step Back, Observe, Proceed Mindfully.
Distress Tolerance describes an individual’s ability to manage their internal emotional state in response to stress-inducing factors.
