I am a professional reflexologist and was awarded the Centralia Reflexology Mastership Level 5, the highest qualification in the field. Reflexology is a non invasive discipline that works on the principle of reflex areas in the feet and hands and how they correspond with the body’s systems. Reflexology is a distinctive method that applies gentle but firm pressure to the reflex areas using the thumb and/ or fingers. Reflexology relieves tension and reduces stress, improves circulation and helps to restore the body’s natural balance. I offer a unique, personal and client specific treatment plan to meet the personal needs of the individual. First Treatment involves a complete medical history and examination of the feet. Cancellation Policy: if you need to cancel your appointment for whatever reason please contact me at least 24hours in advance. please be advice that I do reserve the right to charge a full treatment fee if an appointment is missed or has not been cancelled. unforeseen emergency's will be considered and may not result in a fee.

Your feet are your foundation. What does your foundation look like? Is it collapsing inward like a sinkhole (over-pronation)? Are your toes curled up like a buckling sidewalk (hammer toes)? Does it look like you are standing on a mudslide (foot smear)? Would you build your dream home on a foundation...

Did you know that your vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body? It starts in the brain, circles your digestive system, and connects directly to every organ. Did you also know that hospitals are already tracking “vagal tone” – your vagus nerve’s ability to activate – in patients that ...

The vagus nerve has the important job of ending your body’s fight-or-flight response once a stress has passed. That’s why vagus nerve stimulation is so effective for mood, and has been approved as a novel treatment for depression. Vagus nerve stimulation can also relieve migraines and rapidly quench...

Do you know cold extremities especially the FEET ,hands and the tip of the nose are one of the most common symptoms of the many attributed to low thyroid function? It is medically known that thyroid hormones have a direct effect on the basal, or resting, metabolic rate, and lowered body temperature.
Many practitioners believe that body temperature is an infallible diagnostic tool for hypothyroid function. Thanks to the late great physician Dr Broda Barnes who made the public more widely aware of the use of basal body temperature test as a symptom and diagnostic tool for hypothyroidism. First described by Broda Barnes in 1945, "the basal temperature test provides an extremely valuable screening test for metabolic function. The idea is to obtain the temperature immediately on waking, when it reflects most accurately your body temperature at rest." read more about the BBT test here as it is useful if you have any suspicion of sub clinical hypothyroidism for yourself or your clients : http://www.tpauk.com/main/article/the-basal-temperature-test/

Over the years I’ve treated many clients with impaired thyroid function and hypothyroidism. In general clients including those that receive thyroxine medication, feel more energised after reflexology treatment. They certainly function better and their symptoms ease. Nowadays it is very common for women especially to present with low functioning thyroid issues (sub clinical hypothyroid) as it often does not show up the rudimentary blood tests given, and therefore goes misdiagnosed.

It is apparent that sub clinical hypothyroidism is on the rise affecting many, and a precursor for many health disorders and pathological disease. Often low adrenal function is a precursor affecting thyroid function, with almost an identical list of symptoms.

Endocrine issues themselves are rarely straightforward affecting a myriad of complex body functions, the work of the reflexologist is to apply effective stimulus to the disturbed reflexes until the tissue normalises ,thereby helping to balance the whole system.

Medical diagnosis of some pathologies often caused by hypothyroidism are Infertility , Fibromyalgia, Depression , Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, constipation, migraine , anxiety , Insomnia , Memory Loss and high cholesterol (read more here: http://hypothyroidmom.com/10-diagnoses-commonly-caused-by-hypothyroidism/ )
