Mother’s Day can be beautiful… and it can also be complicated. 🌷

For some, it’s a day filled with love and gratitude.
For others, it may bring sadness, distance, grief, or mixed emotions.

Whatever you feel today is valid.

Our relationship with our mother often shapes us more deeply than we realise. But healing the relationship with our mother doesn’t mean the past has to change — it means we can change how we hold it within ourselves.

Sometimes the most powerful shift begins with a few simple words:

* Dear Mum, you are human like me.
* Some of what you carried was too heavy for me to witness.
* I tried to carry it for you, but its not mine to carry.
* With deep love and respect, I leave that with you.
* You gave me life, and I choose to make something good with it.

In my latest blog, I share how EFT tapping can gently help release emotional burdens and create more peace around our mother relationships.

If Mother’s Day brings up big feelings for you, you’re not alone — and there are gentle ways to work with them. 💛

🌙 World Sleep Day

Let’s talk about the thing so many people are quietly struggling with…

Not being able to switch off.

The racing thoughts.
The 3am to-do list.
Waking up and not being able to get back to sleep.
Feeling exhausted before the day has even begun.

If you’re tired of being tired, please hear this:

It’s rarely “just” about sleep.

It’s about a nervous system that hasn’t felt safe enough to fully power down.

When you’ve been in go-mode for too long…
When you’re holding responsibility for everyone…
When your mind is constantly scanning for what needs fixing…

Of course sleep feels out of reach.

Your body isn’t broken.
And the beautiful thing is — you can teach it something new.

I’ve shared a short tapping session to help calm the stress loop that keeps you awake. It’s gentle. It’s simple. And it helps your body move from alert to safe.

And I love this message I received:

“I watched your EFT video before bed last night with my eldest! I slept nearly straight away. My eldest was a bit judgmental last night but still did it and was surprised this morning that she went to sleep straight away. Thank you sooooo much.”
— Kate Kendall

Because sometimes even the sceptics are pleasantly surprised 😉

Even if you didn’t sleep well last night…
You can begin resetting tonight.

Here’s the free tapping session:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnRCoUgyD0s

Try it before bed and let me know how you get on.

Better sleep isn’t about forcing it.
It’s about creating the conditions where it becomes possible. 💛

You’ll discover:

- How to manage exam stress effectively

- Why emotional outbursts and procrastination happen

- How EFT Tapping can reduce anxiety and improve focus

- Simple tools to support mental wellbeing during high-pressure periods

Whether you're a student, parent, or supporting young people through exams, this is such a valuable watch.

On University Mental Health Day, let’s remember:

Success doesn’t come from pressure — it comes from regulation, support and the right tools.

🚭 No Smoking Day – the truth about smoking and how to stop

If you’ve ever tried to stop smoking, you’ll know… it’s rarely just about ni****ne.

It’s about the story.
It’s about the nervous system.
It’s about what that cigarette has come to represent.

Here are some of the most common self-sabotage patterns — just dressed up in smoke!

Emotional Comfort
“This is my one true friend.”
“It’s the only thing that gives me five minutes of peace.”

Reward System
“I’ve worked hard — I’ve earned this.”
“This is my treat.”

Social Pressure
“I’ll feel awkward if I don’t go outside with the others.”
“What if I lose that connection?”

Stress Justification
“This is the only thing that calms me down.”
“If I don’t have one, I’ll be even more stressed.”

Identity Attachment
“I’m just a smoker.”
“I can’t imagine my life without it.”

Fear of Change
“If I stop, I’ll lose one of the few things that makes me happy.”
“What will I even do with myself?”

Rationalisation
“It’s not that big of a deal.”
“I’ll quit properly next month.”
“Everyone has something — this is mine.”

Here’s the truth:

Smoking isn’t your friend.
It’s been your coping strategy.

It’s not your identity.
It’s a learned pattern.

It doesn’t truly calm you down.
It briefly relieves the stress that the ni****ne cycle itself creates.

And your nervous system?
It doesn’t need smoke.
It needs safety.

💛 This is where EFT (Tapping) can make a huge difference.

Instead of fighting cravings with willpower, EFT helps you:

Calm the stress response in the moment

Reduce the emotional charge behind triggers

Break the link between “stress” and “cigarette”

Gently shift the beliefs that keep you stuck

Create a new sense of safety without reaching for a smoke

When the nervous system feels safer, the urgency softens.
When the emotional triggers reduce, the habit loses its grip.

You’re not weak.
You’re wired.

And wiring can be rewired.

On this No Smoking Day, instead of asking,
“How do I force myself to quit?”

Try asking,
“What is smoking doing for me — and how else could I meet that need?”

If you’d like a gentle starting point, download our free EFT manual to help you begin tapping safely and effectively - with a section on stopping smoking.

✨ Download it here https://www.efttrainingcentre.com/learn-eft-manual

Start calming the craving at its root.

You deserve calm that doesn’t cost your health. 💛

EFT for Frontline Healthcare Staff During COVID

During the pandemic, paediatric Emergency Department (ED) staff were under immense pressure - emotionally and physically.

A 2024 pilot study explored the impact of 10-minute group EFT sessions with small teams of paediatric ED staff.

50 participants

Short, accessible group tapping sessions

Delivered during an intense clinical period

The results showed meaningful reductions in:

🔻 35.5% stress

🔻 26% obsessive & intrusive thoughts

🔻 22% feelings of pressure

🔻 21.7% loneliness

🔻 25.4% emotional & physical pain

Even brief EFT interventions appeared to support frontline staff coping with high stress environments.

This study highlights something important: regulation doesn’t have to be lengthy or complicated to be impactful.

✨ About Us – Tamara & Peter Don ✨

We’re Tamara and Peter, founders of the award-winning EFT Training Centre, proud recipients of the Janey Lee Grace Platinum Award for Excellence.

For over 15 years, we’ve been helping people around the world find calm, confidence, and emotional freedom through EFT. From the USA and Canada to Dubai and Singapore, we’ve trained thousands of practitioners and professionals — including those working with NHS Dorset, supporting trauma recovery, rough sleepers, and perinatal care.

Our journey has been anything but ordinary…

Peter was invited to work at a 6* resort in the Maldives (yes, it was as dreamy as it sounds — and Tamara joined him for two weeks of bliss!)

We performed in the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony — Tamara in the countdown, Peter under the rising Olympic rings.

We’ve joined flashmobs with the English National Ballet and even danced at midnight in Trafalgar Square (and no, we’re not dancers!).

When the world shut down in 2020, we found ourselves stranded in Singapore, made a spontaneous escape to Australia, and ticked off a bucket-list cruise to New Zealand — arriving home just before England locked down.

Through all the twists and turns, one thing has never changed — our passion for helping people transform, evolve, and heal through EFT. 💗

No in-depth Tapping World Summit reflections from me today…

Instead, we had a wonderful celebration for our wedding anniversary — punting in Cambridge on the hottest day of the year so far ☀️ followed by a little spontaneous shopping.

And yes… I bought a 1950s swing dress — totally frivolous and a brand-new look for me! 👗

On the way home, we listened to:
“Feeling Good Again: How Do I Reawaken My Joy When Life Has Felt So Hard?” with Dawson Church — which we both loved.

He began by sharing some shocking research showing that our younger generation is currently the most despairing in modern history — even more so than during WWII.

And he ended by showering listeners with love and guiding a tapping process to release any resistance to feeling lovable.
Wow. 💛

If you listened to “The Identity Update Protocol”, what was your biggest insight from it?

I genuinely didn’t think the Summit could get any better.

And then today happened.

The theme was Leveling Up – Finding Peace and Success in Your Next Chapter — and it felt both timely and needed.

Talk 1:
Motivation Isn’t Found, It’s Unblocked:
Why Can’t I Just Do the Thing, and What’s Really Keeping Me Stuck?
with Alex Ortner

I can really relate to this topic and appreciated the great tapping rounds.

Overwhelm.
Procrastination.
Burnout.

He made such an important distinction:

Overwhelm isn’t just having a lot to do.
It’s the perception that it’s too much.

When the nervous system thinks something is too much, it doesn’t motivate you.

It shuts you down.

Causing
• Staring blankly at your to-do list
• Everything feeling equally urgent
• Small tasks feeling impossibly heavy
• Wanting to hide, scroll, or escape

Your brain goes into survival mode — and from there, you literally can’t prioritise or think clearly.

I loved the breakdown of the cycle:
Small stress → Chronic stress → Overwhelm → Burnout

Small stress can be useful. It helps you act.
Overwhelm is when stress becomes prolonged — you’re paralysed but still wanting to move forward.
Burnout is when you feel helpless and hopeless. “I can’t do this anymore.”

The tapping was incredibly calming.

And this reaffirmed something I say all the time:
Tapping calms the mind. And from a calmer mind, one step of inspired action becomes possible.

As Jessica put it so beautifully — when you regulate your nervous system, you connect with your higher wisdom… and that’s when the magic happens. 💛

Talk 2:
Unshakeable Inner Stability:
How Can I Feel OK When the World Is So Uncertain?
with Robert Schwarz

First, he blew my mind with this:

One zettabyte = 1 trillion gigabytes.

In 1990, total world digital information was 0.5 zettabytes.
In 2010, it was 2 zettabytes.
In 2020, 64 zettabytes.
In 2024, 150 zettabytes.

Even if you don’t fully grasp the numbers (I don’t!), you can feel the scale.

Our brains evolved slowly.
They are not designed for this level of information overload.

No wonder so many people feel constantly overwhelmed.

Add to that:
• Erosion of trust in institutions
• Global uncertainty
• Doom scrolling (even though it makes us feel worse… we keep doing it)

The world isn’t here to make you feel OK.
You need to make you feel OK.

He challenged the belief that:
“Worrying is caring.”
“Stressing is being responsible.”

And replaced it with:

Caring doesn’t require suffering and stress never leads to healing

The experiential tapping was incredible. We:
• Tuned into a memory of feeling safe, calm, strong, centred
• Amplified that feeling while tapping
• Installed it into a neutral scenario (like driving)
• Then installed it into a stressful situation

It was like building an inner anchor.

Life will keep presenting uncertainty.
But we can build inner resources that travel with us.

What resonated most for you today? 💛

EFT for Patients in Remission from Melanoma

A 2025 randomised controlled trial explored the impact of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) for patients in remission from melanoma.

53 participants diagnosed 6 months prior

Group EFT (n=16), Individual EFT (n=18), Waitlist (n=19)

4 weeks of EFT intervention

The findings were powerful:

🔹 Subjective Units of Distress (SUDS) scores reduced by 90% during sessions

🔹 Over 80% of EFT participants reported positive changes and satisfaction

🔹 Significant improvements in participants’ understanding of preventing recurrence

🔹 Improvements in spiritual wellbeing

This study highlights EFT not only as a tool for emotional relief, but as an intervention supporting resilience, meaning, and wellbeing after cancer treatment.

Reflections from today’s money themed Tapping World Summit sessions…

1) The Ancient Panic Around Money:

Why Does Money Make Me Anxious and How Do I Open to Receive More?
with Iyanla Vanzant

This really got me thinking about ancestral beliefs — the ones that quietly ripple through generations and land in our subconscious without us even realising.

Beliefs that I notice for me include:
“Life is a struggle.”
“You have to work hard for money.”

When you really sit with that… how much of our money anxiety is ours and how much is inherited or absorbed from previous genenrations?

I loved the simplicity of the thymus tapping she shared when intensity is high and words feel too much. Sometimes the nervous system just needs rhythm and reassurance before it’s ready for language.

And her sharing made me think:
Money as movement.
Money as energy.
Money as part of life’s natural rhythm.

2) The Hidden Money Blocks You Don’t Even Know You Have:

Why Can’t I Bring More Money into My Life?
with Carol Look

I really appreciated the important reminder of gentle transition into positive statements at the right time. Many people I know try to bring in the positive statements too early. They miss an opportunity to release additional aspects or they cover over the negative stuff with positive statements like putting a rug on top of some dirt - the dirt doesn't go away, it is just hidden from site.

Transiitoning into the positive using soft bridges like:
“What if…”

It’s such a powerful phrase. I use it constantly — personally and with clients. It allows possibility without triggering resistance.

One tapping round that really resonated was:
“It’s never too late.”

I found myself thinking of Louise Hay, who only became widely successful in her 60s. Timing isn’t the enemy. Our beliefs about timing often are.

And this reminder was gold:

We can’t change how a memory happened.
But we can change how it’s stored in the brain.

We can disconnect the upsetting emotion from the memory so that when we recall it, we feel neutral — or even grateful — instead of ashamed, afraid, or stuck.

When the emotional charge shifts…
Our relationship with money shifts.

And when our relationship with money shifts…
So does what we allow ourselves to receive.

What landed most for you in today’s sessions? 💛
