Understanding “why” something is the way it is and knowing how to support it is “why” I became a Clinical Nutritionist.

Obviously there’s more to the above… the conversion pathways are reliant on nutrients and enzymes and stress and cortisol play a big part too. Every body is different and there’s so many different factors to consider.

Monday night is normally stir fry at ours.

We always top with sesame seeds and shredded nori, adding up on those extra nutrients and taste! Mostly traces of iodine, calcium and manganese.

We’re loving Gochujang paste (Korean chilli paste) and mix it with turmeric bone broth, tamari, peanut butter and crushed garlic for a full flavour sauce.

We don’t necessarily meal plan but we do keep ingredients to make fave meals well stocked in the fridge and pantry and choose the night before.

Caesar salad for lunch after a morn spent backyard gardening.

Crispy hot off the pan garlic chicken + bacon.

Dressing made from aioli, Greek yoghurt and smashed anchovies to give it that authentic Caesar taste.

Parmesan cheese and of course rough chopped Cos lettuce for that crunch!

I make our waffle mix with 2 eggs, milk, Gf flour, almond meal, flaxseed and Maca powder and a touch of sugar.

It ensures my boys start the day strong.

They’ve had 1/3 their daily protein, 1/3 fibre, sufficient calories to fuel energy needs and good fats to nourish their brains and provide building blocks for hormone synthesis.

Plus they love them!

Cook a big batch and there’s always leftovers for the next morn to quickly reheat in the oven.

Fueling up for the day is so important!

I focus primarily on fibre + protein for myself and the kids. Cabbage is one of my go to’s for gut health and I’ve thrown it in with some brown rice, spring onions and shredded nori strips to have with tuna for lunch.

I’m stating my day with granola, yoghurt, berries and seeds and coffee with collagen.

In between are a banana and a Choc collagen bar.

Dinner plans will be a chicken and veg stirfry with peanut butter, miso, chilli, tamari and bone broth.

Do air fry a tin of sardines and top your lunch with it!!

Rich in Calcium

And…the natural creatine your body is used to!

The method:
Spread and slightly smash a tin of sardines on some baking paper on your air fryer tray. Sprinkle with salt & pepper and some finely chopped spring onion. Then add a fine layer of freshly grated parmesan. Make sure it’s spread out with gaps to allow for crispiness goodness…

I cooked in our air fryer (my oven with air fryer setting) at 220° for 15 mins flipping half way.

Absolutely delicious! Salty, crispy, and so moreish.

Stacking wood is one of those around the house tasks that keeps your body fit without a gym membership. It requires coordination and strength. Squats, static holds, balance, and grip strength.

Did you know Heart rate variability and grip strength are both key markers for longevity of life.

Other activities are go hang from your kids monkey bars, bounce on the trampoline, get stuck into the garden, walk those stairs 😍😍

Good Morning ☀️

While Mondays can always be a bit Blurgh, just remember it’s a new week. And everyday is a new day. It’s never too late to make small positive changes to a healthier way of being. Says to myself as gettting kids ready for school took longer then usual this morn and I’m running late…. Still gonna park the car away from town and walk in 👌🏻

Back on the bike yesterdays after what feels like forever. A nice lil 10k roll around seaport and heritage park for ❤️ day! Heart rate averaged out a little higher than I’d usually like to see so more bike cardio is needed!

Ended the day with dinner at home with friends and a delish dessert. Just so you know Nutritionists sometimes take the easy road too. Thanks cheesecake shop 😜
