Artistic Athlete Artistic Athlete is a series of classes and workshop that teaches dancers how to reinforce their technique foundation through body-resistance conditioning.

Artistic Athlete is a series of classes and workshop that teaches young/pre-professional dancers how to reinforce their technique foundation in order to prolong, maintain and enhance their dancing capabilities. A dancer’s body travels through extreme ranges of physical motion that require high levels of ability in a diverse collection of physical capacities: strength, flexibility, endurance, alignment, coordination and relaxation. Lack of proper activation of the core, aerobic endurance, stamina, misalignment and muscle imbalances are the leading causes of dance related injuries. The workshops focus on:
-increasing strength for power, stability and flexibility
-increasing muscular and aerobic endurance,
-understanding anatomical alignment of the body
-nutrition and fueling the body for training and performance
-proper technique of stretching
-creating and projecting a healthy body image
-learning how to create a supplemental conditioning program that is cohesive for specific training.

I am so excited to be teaching a weekly conditioning class at 8:30pm on Wednesday nights at Starlyte Yoga on Spanish Fork main. This class is yoga infused, but is faster paced with lots of strength conditioning vs stretching. First class is free so come try it out tomorrow night! Hope to see you there!!💪🏻

These are a few of my favorites back exercises for core / posterior.
➡️ 1. Elbow back extension- keep head inline with spine and squeeze the shoulder blades together without lifting the shoulders. Do not lift your legs.
➡️2. Elbow back extension with knees. - the knees have to stay together and do not fully straighten the legs. If they come apart , the adductor will not be properly activated. If done correctly, this exercise will fully activate the posterior chain. 6-8 reps of the first 2 exercises 2-3 sets.
➡️3. Superman Isometric hold15-20secs
➡️4. Swimming - maintain head alignment and make sure legs and arms are straight.

I was in the park today where I held a summer fit boot camp last year and I was wondering if people are interested in doing it again? This is not a dance thing, so anyone is invited to do it. It is usually 2x a week for 6 weeks. Last year we did two session with a week break in between. We had such an amazing group of women and it was so fun seeing their progress. Comment or message me if interested. This will be held in the Spanish Fork/Salem area.
