Meet Derek & Melinda

Derek and Melinda met through mutual friends and quickly became inseparable. They dated for two years and got married in 2012 at a beautiful country club. Their relationship is based on a foundation of love, communication, and respect for one another. Some of their favorite things to do together are hiking, kayaking, bike riding, and spending time with their families. Derek and Melinda believe that adoption is the way they are meant to build their family and are so excited to become parents!
Currently, Melinda is a paralegal at a local law firm and loves her career. When she isn’t working, she volunteers at an animal sanctuary that rescues farm animals. Melinda cares deeply about all living things and her compassion and love are some of the reasons Derek knows she will be a great mother. She also loves to cook and create new recipes. Derek is a clinical lab scientist with a degree in biology from UC Davis. Melinda says he is smart, has undeniable love and respect for his family, and is always the life of the party by making everyone laugh. In his free time, Derek loves to do projects around the house, play the trumpet and guitar, and go on outdoor adventures.
Derek and Melinda live in Roseville, California with their two dogs. They live in a one-story home in a friendly neighborhood just minutes away from parks, bike trails, and great schools. Family is the most important thing to them, and they love to spend time with them since they live close by. Derek and Melinda promise to teach your child to be kind to everyone, to respect and love all living things, to follow their dreams, to always look for the positive in things and to have fun and laugh every day. Meet Ryan & Timm!

Ryan and Timm met in 2001 on the set of the film, Not Another Teen Movie. Ryan was the assistant to the director and Timm was an extra. They had seen each other around set for a week or two, passing each other, locking eyes and smiling, but they were both too nervous to say anything. The night they filmed the prom scene, they had a nervous first conversation, and the next week, Ryan and Timm's first date. They have been together ever since and tied the knot in April 2018. They can’t wait to grow their family through adoption and experience the world with a child!
Ryan has an exciting job as a TV executive. When he’s not working, he’s extremely active and loves to cook. He hits the gym five times a week, ran the LA marathon, and hikes on weekends. Timm describes Ryan as intelligent and hardworking, but also someone who loves to have fun and dance! Timm is a social guy but also a big homebody, so hosting meals and game nights at their house is his favorite. He also loves to create things--he designed the remodel of their home, writes stories and screenplays, and works on their yard!
Ryan and Timm live on a leafy street of family homes, tucked in the hills of North Glendale, a neighborhood of Los Angeles. It's the kind of place where neighbors look out for each other, ride bikes and play together, and it was with the knowledge that they wanted to adopt one day that they bought their house here. Ryan and Timm promise to give your child the best education, encourage their curiosities and provide unconditional love.
