Mindfulness and meditation are great tools to help us relax our bodies and minds, and become more present and aware of both our inner and external experiences. One great way to start practicing is by paying attention to simple daily practices you do, such as brushing your teeth, washing your face, or taking a shower. Notice what you are doing, how it feels, and what comes up for you in the process!

Are you afraid to speak up for yourself? Do you want too, but you’re afraid of how the other person might respond? I totally understand! This is quite common, especially people-pleasers!

We often fear what the other person will say to us or what they will think of us if we speak up. So rather than saying something, we stay quiet and leave feeling frustrated as we weren’t seen, weren’t heard, and our needs were not met...

It’s important here that we check how we are fuelling our self-esteem. If you fuel your self-esteem from the validation and approval of other people, then you have to rely on what other’s think of you. But if you fuel your self-esteem from within, then you no longer rely on the opinions of others. What would it look like for you to seek validation and approval from yourself? To try being the one to tell yourself you are good enough! You are worthy! You are deserving! Allow your self-esteem to be fuelled by the brave choice to choose yourself, your needs and your emotions over other people’s comfort and opinions!! That is where true confidence and self-esteem comes from, the deep, loving connection you have with yourself!

Give yourself permission to honour your needs. To speak your truth. To put yourself first. You know what it feels like to keep quiet. Now imagine what it would feel like if you spoke up ❤️
