Dear Anxiety,

Thank you for alerting me to your presence today

Thank you for standing guard to protect me from potential dangers and trauma

Thank you for reminding me to release the past or not venture too far into an uncertain future

Thank you for bringing my attention back to the present moment

Thank you for reminding me that I’m alive with every heart beat, rapid breath, tight muscle and furrowed brow

Thank you for guiding me to find the ways in which I have control, joy and presence in this moment

Dear Anxiety,
I am grateful for you, my friend

You and I shall hold hands and step through this fear together

Until one day, I shall release you with love, gratitude and fond memory of my Protector.
