Aid the Silent

Aid the Silent To glorify God by empowering deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens through access to communication, education, resources, and community.

Aid the Silent was created to help thousands around the world find information about living in today’s society as a deaf or hard-of-hearing individual, to learn about Jesus’ word and to inspire people to embrace their differences. Aid the Silent is dedicated to equip deaf children/teens with the necessary tools and resources to help them find personal success. Through commitment and prayer, Aid th

e Silent dedicates its efforts to providing a platform to raise funds for deaf ministry, deaf research, deaf education and deaf resources. Deaf Ministry: Through our sponsorships deaf children/teens will have the opportunities to attend Christian camps and events. Deaf Research: Funds collected will support organizations that dedicate its efforts to finding treatments and technological advancement that benefit the deaf. Deaf Education: Monies accumulated will support the deaf community through educational institutions and programs by providing funding to train deaf educators. Deaf Resources: Through community donations, Aid the Silent will be able to provide the deaf and hard-of-hearing with equipment and services. We raise the necessary funds to provide HOH/deaf children/teens the tools and resources to help them find personal success. Whether that be through resources such as FM systems or hearing aids, through resources such as speech therapy or learning ASL, or through learning about Jesus through Deaf Young Life meetings and camps. We provide six areas of resources:

3.ASL Lessons (family or individual)
4.Speech Therapy
5.Send HOH/deaf children & teens to faith-based summer camps
6.Deaf Young Life: nondenominational Christian ministry that reaches out into the lives of teenagers to present the Gospel. Deaf Young Life is geared to HOH /deaf teenagers, run by a h HOH /deaf leader with HOH /deaf volunteers as well as volunteers who have a heart for HOH /deaf community. Deaf Young Life events are fully HOH /deaf accessible with captioning & interpreting thus creating a place of unity for the entire community.

Meet Isaac—better known as “Mighty Ike”!

When he’s not spending time with us at Aid the Silent, Ike stays busy through 4-H, a youth development program that teaches kids hands-on skills like responsibility, leadership, and community service through projects such as agriculture, animal care, science, and more. One of Ike’s passions is caring for his rabbits and preparing them for 4-H shows, where he learns dedication and hard work firsthand.

What makes Mighty Ike stand out even more is his heart for giving back. After his most recent 4-H competition, he chose to donate part of his winnings back to Aid the Silent to support Deaf and hard of hearing children and families in our community.

If you would like to support Isaac’s Pathway and help him continue making a difference, you can donate in his name here:

Every contribution helps us continue providing access, advocacy, and support for the Deaf community.

Meet Cody

A kid with big dreams and even bigger goals.

Cody is currently waiting for his BAHA—a Bone‑Anchored Hearing Aid that helps send sound directly to the inner ear through bone conduction. For children like Cody, this technology can be life‑changing, opening doors to clearer sound and stronger connections to the world around them.

If you’d like to be part of Cody’s journey, you can make a donation in his name:

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

We’re here for you. Always.

Whether you’re having a great day or a hard one, you are not alone. Your mental health matters, and so do you.

We also recognize that Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals can face barriers to accessible support. Everyone deserves care that meets them where they are 🤟

Meet Josh!

Josh is no stranger to hearing aids, but it was time for an upgrade. His mom applied with Aid the Silent, and we’re so happy to share that he was approved!

For many families, the cost of new hearing devices can be overwhelming, especially when insurance still considers hearing aids an accessory rather than a necessity. Josh’s journey is even more unique, as his older brother also has hearing loss, doubling the financial impact on their family.

We’re honored to support Josh and his family as he continues on his pathway with the tools he needs to thrive.

If you’d like to be part of stories like Josh’s, you can make a donation and help change lives:

Meet Kiliam!

Kiliam has never met a camera he didn’t love—he’s always ready with a pose and a smile! 📸 And he’s no stranger to Aid the Silent either. He’s been visiting us for years, following in the footsteps of his big brother who previously received hearing aids through our program.

With his confidence and charm, we think Kiliam was made for the big screen!

If you’d like to support Kiliam on his pathway, you can make a donation in his name. Who knows—one day when he’s famous, you’ll be able to say you helped pave the way!

We are honored to share that Aid The Silent has been awarded a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to launch our statewide Bridging the Silence: Equal Access Initiative.

The initiative includes two coordinated education tracks. The first provides accessibility and communication training for attorneys, court personnel, Child Protective Services staff, and law enforcement professionals to strengthen their ability to recognize hearing loss-related communication barriers, understand Deaf culture and language differences, and meet legal obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and related accessibility standards. The second provides accessible legal literacy education for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals and families so they can better understand their rights and participate fully in legal and child welfare processes.

This work moves Texas closer to equitable access to justice through communication access.

If you are interested in serving on the Bridging the Silence advisory committee or participating as a professional partner, please email info@aidthesilent.com.

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation’s largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
