✨🎄 Time to Clear Out for the Holidays! 🎄✨
As we gear up for the holiday season and look forward to a fresh start in the New Year, it’s the perfect time to declutter, reorganize, and make space for all the joy that’s on the way!

If you’re cleaning out closets, storage rooms, or garages, consider donating your gently used items to ReStore. Your donations not only give your items a second life—they help support families right here in our community.

Let’s spread some holiday spirit, reduce waste, and start the New Year with lighter spaces and fuller hearts.
Every donation makes a difference!

It’s the time of year for many of you to heat your homes with wood-burning stoves or fireplaces. Remember, never dump hot ashes or coals into a wooded area. If you do, you’re risking not only your home but your neighbor’s as well.

Low humidity and dry fuels can cause wildfires to spread quickly, threatening lives and property.

🎯Before discarding stove or fireplace ashes, soak them in water in a metal bucket.
🎯Stir them.
🎯Let them sit.
🎯Only put them in an area where the wind won’t cause them to spread to combustible fuel such as leaves, pine needles or other forest litter.

Thanksgiving has the highest rate of home cooking fires, which are a major cause of house fires overall. Thanksgiving has the highest rate of home cooking fires, which are a major cause of house fires overall. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind.

Stay in the kitchen when you are cooking on the stove top so you can keep an eye on the food.

Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot and kids should stay three feet away.

Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids. The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns.

Keep knives out of the reach of children.

Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child.

Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children — up high in a locked cabinet.

Never leave children alone in room with a lit candle.

Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags.

Make sure your smoke alarms are working. Test them by pushing the test button.
