Calendula calendula!. How I love thee! Your scent and your bright light and how lovely you are on a salad…not to mention the way you soothe the skin, the fussy belly and keep our lymph moving. What more can I say? I can say: grow more !!! Make it your most important plant to grow even if it’s in a pot on a deck ( although ki does love to flop over so make it a big pot!). And then harvest it to keep you going all winter long.

It's August and that means there's foraging to be done! This Sunday I am leading a plant walk and herbal medicine making workshop at Tuckaway Farm in Lee NH. We'll walk the farm, gather some herbs for food and medicine and then head to the kitchen to create all sorts of preparations for you to take home for your own herbal apothecary!
