WATER INTAKE HACKS

This is something we all tend to struggle or need reminding with.

The more you practice it though the easier it becomes as becomes a habit.

I am really starting to nail upon waking now.

Which is good as the spine is so dehydrated when you wake up.

I have attached a couple of ideas to help you below.
Whichever way you do, a good idea would be to set alerts or reminders for each time you should drink.

It may be a pain at first this way but the idea is that the more you do it the more it will be become a habit without thinking, then no need for alerts again as you will get triggers or signs to do them 🙂

P.S

Benefits of Drinking Water:

1. Water is essential for the kidneys and other bodily functions. Carries nutrients throughout the body.

2. Did you know, when dehydrated the skin is more vulnerable to WRINKLES!

3. It lubricates the joints - long-term dehydration can reduce shock absorption and lead to joint deterioration and pain.

4. It forms saliva and mucus- which helps with food digestion.

5. It delivers oxygen throughout the body. Blood is more than 90% water which carries oxygen to entire body.

6. It cushions the brain and spinal cord- dehydration can affect brain structure and function, sometimes making it difficult to THINK OR REASON. And at times, a Terrible Headache!

7. Regulates body temperature. And helps maintain electrolyte balance.

8. The digestive system depends on it.

Dehydration can lead to constipation and an overly acidic stomach causing heartburn and possibly stomach ulcers.

9. Flushes Body of Waste

10. Helps Maintain Blood Pressure. lack of water in the blood can cause blood to become thicker which increases blood pressure.

Having thick blood can also result in clotting, which can lead to dangerous blot clots that could result in a stroke or heart attack

I would say here do what works best for you.
If you had more meals you probably would get less cravings during the day but you may not have the time to do so.

You could even just have one meal is you wanted to!

Just make sure you are eating enough to fuel your body so you are able to do the things you do. This includes mentally as lack of food can affect our brain glucose.

Incinerate more calories per step this weekend!

Burn 15 per cent more calories (about 40 calories more per hour) by adding a slight incline (around 6 percent) to your normally flat 3.5-mile-per-hour walk.

The steeper the hike, the bigger the spike in calories blasted at any speed plus will give your legs a cracking workout.

Running or walking up hills will also improve your muscle endurance and speed reason why I used to do them on a regular basis to improve my times and stamina.

Changing the Way You Eat

1. Add healthy fats. You may have noticed a recent shift in nutritional advice.

Experts are now talking less about avoiding fats, and more about choosing healthy fats. Broccoli can be a lot more appealing when you drizzle on olive oil.

2. Hunt for bargains. Maybe the high price of some superfoods is dampening your enthusiasm. Shop for seasonal produce or grow your own. Stock up on inexpensive staples like beans and lentils. Visit the bulk bins where you can save on packaging costs, and sample small quantities until you discover your favourite grains and seeds.

3. Beautify your place settings. Presentation makes a big difference. Sit down to eat. Create an attractive centrepiece or light candles. Use colourful dishes and bowls.

4. Branch out. If kale is starting to bore you, experiment with other salad greens like oakleaf or mizuna. Sign up for cooking classes or visit the library for more ideas about what to make for dinner.

5. Carry snacks. Bring hummus or yoghurt to the office with you for your afternoon break. You'll soon like your own fresh food better than the packaged goods in the vending machines.

6. Make it convenient. The foods we crave are often the ones that require minimal efforts like cookies and frozen dinners. You can make healthy substitutes just as handy. Keep a bowl of fruit on your dining room table. Buy whole-wheat pizza crusts you can top with cut vegetables and cheese for a hot meal in minutes.

Imagine looking forward to a bowl of beets with the same enthusiasm you usually reserve for double-fudge brownies.

Some simple mental training, along with adjusting a few lifestyle habits, will have you craving food that's good for you.

Here's a bite-size tip that I have found to work well. 😀

Over the years I have often found that many of my past clients (and myself) don’t mind having fairly simple, low calorie and somewhat ‘boring’ (they don’t have to be) meals for breakfast and lunch because these tend to be eaten alone or at work and are generally less sociable meals.

Hack. This leaves extra calories for the evening meal which tends to be more sociable.

Meaning you can still enjoy your evening meal with friends/family while meeting your diet goals.

It also leaves you something to look forward to at the end of the day and has always been my preferred way to diet.

About your diet...

Feeling tired, deprived, constipated and thinking about food all of the time?

Fancy doing it for another 11 months?

Here’s the thing about low-calorie diets...

Especially the 1200 ones...

Yes, the weight will come off fast...

Your body shape should change.

Your problems will “feel” solved.

But this quick fix for 30 days will come at a price...

It is not doing your body and you mental well being any good.

It is not realistic and sustainable.

If you continue you will feel tired and weak.

You will feel hungry 24/7.

Your poor habits will not go away.

Which normally for many is the main cause of the problem.

Dropping your calories this low can mess up your body, hormones and mental well-being.

If not eating enough you can lose muscle mass and your organs may shrink which are essential for a healthy life.

(Body needs fuel from something)

Can significantly reduce metabolic rate. This means that we can easily hit a plateau.

Affect your bone health there is infertility also.

Unless you are bedridden and this have been recommended by your GP you should stay well clear.

Going this way can create negative relationships with food, unrealistic expectations and eating disorders.

Feelings of pressure, guilt and shame when you slightly go off the ball...

In fact, what you will find is you will start seeing far better results when you eat more calories!

You deserve to eat because you need to eat.

Eating is meant to be nourishment, not punishment.

Get back on track by increasing your calorie intake 100 calories at a time gradually.
