I am pleased to announce I am now one of two reiki master practitioners serving the Cornucopia House in Durham, NC, a non-profit bringing free support to local cancer patients, their care givers, and survivors. I am honored to be able to provide reiki energy healing to assist in stress reduction and healing for those in such a time of need.

After my interview I stopped at the Duke gardens to meditate with some new crystals. I can’t help but feel like I have experienced a full circle in life. The last time I was there Justin was under going his chemotherapeutic treatment. His diagnosis is what lead me to reiki. I experienced first hand the peace reiki brought him during his battle with cancer.

After he past I felt lost many times searching for a meaning to life and where I fit in.

On this day sitting in the gardens thinking of the possible future paths ahead I felt so whole.

Very nice introduction to chakras and the flow of energy throughout our body...highlighting emotional and physical issues that can stem from imbalances at each chakra center.

The chakra system are an ancient discovery, but modern science is contributing to our understanding on how they can affect us. The lower three chakras are associated with meeting your basic needs, the 3 up most are associated with more spiritual pursuits.

The state of becoming…. We are always in a state of becoming. This is why we are here continual growth. At times this can leave us feeling a state of lack why are we not here why are we not there? The ego can take hold and lock onto the problem mindset. We want this but we do not have it. It may be a relationship or greater financial abundance. The ego loves to be needed and, in these moments…the ego works over time. If we don’t have this we must be doing something wrong what “should” we be doing instead. Why are we not manifesting what we want in our life right now? Why don’t we have the perfect job relationship or a certain dollar amount in the bank.

At every moment in our life we are in exactly the place we are supposed to be. This belief can be challenged in the darkest times. Believe me I have been there curled up in a ball on the floor uncontrollably crying. But through every dark turn in my life and there have been many I’ve moved closer to the light. Through the struggles came the most growth and empowerment and I cannot look back on a single dark time and wish it away. It has brought me closer to who I am to becoming fully me.
