In this day and age more and more people are beginning to take their health seriously from becoming fit and healthy to looking after their mental health also. There is more to being healthy than you think though. A lot of people overlook their immune system even though it is the one that fights against illness and disease. Your immune system is a complex system that has to be strong enough to fight off illness and infections but also smart enough to not overreact causing autoimmune disorders and allergies to develop. Here are five ways to boost your immune system naturally without supplements.⁣

1)Eat healthy, nutrient & vitamin dense food: Maintaining a healthy diet is essential for health, wellbeing and your immune system. Some important vitamins include B6, C and E. Vitamin B6 can be found in chicken, tuna, banana & green vegetables. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits including oranges and strawberries. Vitamin E can be found in Almonds, seeds, peanut butter and spinach. ⁣

2)Exercise Regularly: Exercising is extremely important for your physical and mental wellbeing and also helps boost your immune system through circulation making it easier for your immune cells to move through the body. ⁣

3)Decrease Stress: Stress affects your health and has a massive impact on your immune system. With chronic stress your immune system weakens and you are more prone to disease or sickness. ⁣

4)Sleep More: Sleep is essential for recovery for the mind, body and soul. During sleep your body works to create infection fighting molecules that work in your immune system to battle sickness or disease. ⁣

5)Drink More Water: There is a fluid in your circulatory system called 'lymph'. This carries important immune cells around your body to help fight off sickness and disease. It is made up largely of water. Being dehydrated slows down the movement of lymph therefore increasing your chances of becoming sick. ⁣

Other important vitamins include Vitamin D which can be found naturally from sunlight or by supplementing. Vitamin D plays a massive role in a healthy body and helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body.
