🎉Shoutout to Tonya Rawlin in Pella!

Some donors require a bit of extra care, and Tonya is always eager to go the extra mile!

Recently, we've had a few donors with very specific vein conditions. This requires the needle to be held at a particular angle.

When standard methods didn't work, Tonya took charge and personally managed the needle throughout the entire donation process! She exemplifies a supervisor who is ready to do anything she expects from others, setting a remarkable standard of perseverance and commitment.

Special thanks to Kent Altena from Polk City, who has donated 49 Gallons!

"As an amateur Masters Strongman and Powerlifter, I donate platelets often to celebrate a big lift or show gratitude for the progress I have seen in the gym."

Kent believes that "...if you are given the blessing of health and life, one should give back or share that blessing with those in need. Plus this is the one area or action I can max out that my Strongman coach doesn't give me grief about."

🎉ShoutOut to Donor Services in Sioux City!

The supervisors, including Amanda Solomon and Jessica Hoffman, all worked together on a Friday afternoon to take a Trima machine to Omaha, to draw a very special donation for a pregnant mother and child.

The team volunteered to go to Omaha, even though it was late in the day, to make sure the product would be available when the transfusion was needed. They always demonstrate commitment to our mission, and we are lucky to have them on our team! Thank you!

Last year, Kristina Feldhans welcomed her baby girl into the world, but faced a terrifying situation when she hemorrhaged after a C-section.

"I lost consciousness due to severe blood loss. Thankfully, the medical team acted swiftly to control the bleeding, and when I regained consciousness, they informed me of what had happened." Kristina received several units of blood, from compassionate blood donors.

"I am forever grateful to the selfless blood donors who saved my life..." she said, "...because of them I'm here to experience all the firsts with my baby girl and other children."

She is now committed to donating blood, to make sure others can receive the same gift of life that she did.
