The lifesaving impact of blood donation touches people of ALL ages!

During last Saturday’s UNI basketball game, UNI Athletics Director Megan Franklin honored Jade Ewoldt, who delivered her twins Keeley and Kambry at just 22 weeks due to a rare medical condition. The girls each received multiple blood transfusions while in the NICU.

Thanks to generous blood donors, Keeley and Kambry received the care they needed and even held a Guinness World Record for the world’s surviving Most Premature Twins.

We are close to the grand opening of our Cedar Valley Donor Center!

Our ribbon cutting ceremony in early March will include remarks from members of Grow Cedar Valley and LifeServe leaders, as well as a tour of the facility and free refreshments and snacks.

Our team doesn’t just talk about saving lives!

At Bill Paxson’s Blood Drive, several LifeServe team members rolled up their sleeves to lead by example. Jodi Virden, Sommer Thompson, Shelly Schnell-Petersen, and retiree Deb Johnson were among the donors who came out to show their support.

Donor Recruitment Specialist Betty Van Gelder even drove more than an hour, from Oskaloosa to Des Moines, to donate. She loves visiting different donor centers and drives, saying the variety of experiences helps her better connect with the many donors she calls each day.

Shoutout to the DS crew for being professional, efficient, and friendly, making it a great experience for everyone!
