Descendants of Walenty Lis of Błędowa Zgłobieńska, Rzeszów, Poland

In the mid 1800s,Walenty Lis married Jadwiga Jerz. Many descendants left Błędowa Zgłobieńska and emigrated to the United States and Canada.

Michał Lis (1883-1923) emigrated to the U.S. in 1902 and married Apolonia Micał in 1909. Apolonia (Pauline Liss), together with her daughters Bernice Fary and Stephenie Liss, exchanged and saved many letters and photos with their Polish relatives. In 1985, Bernice took her dream trip to visit her Micał and Lis relatives with her son Father Francis Fary, who took many slides. Bernice' daughter-in-law, Jane Fary, loves genealogy and history. She has used the notes, documents, letters, and photos to research these families and compile a Lis Family History which contains information on over 125 descendants of Walenty Lis and Jadwiga Jerz. Many branches of the family have contributed additional information for this project, and it will soon be available to share with interested descendants.
