š„ Macro Friendly Carrot Cake Bars w/ Protein Cream Cheese Icing (gf)š„
Sometimes you want to indulge in all the sugary decadence of a bomb ass dessert... but more often than not we want something sweet & yummy that isnāt āall that bad for youā. Remaking classic sweets in ways that āarenāt all that bad for youā is always so fun for me. I love testing lower sugar, oil free, or higher protein options that are more easily worked into my meal planning that donāt even need to be considered ātreatsā or ācheatsā. āCheat mealsā arenāt in my vocabulary. We are adults... what exactly are we supposed to be cheating on? Everything is a choice and Iāll happily choose this crazy good carrot cake remake any day of the week. The primary swaps are monkfruit for white sugar, egg whites for eggs, applesauce for some oil and protein powder for some of the flour. In the frosting Iāve completely avoided powdered sugar and swapped in protein powder instead, and I swear youād never know the difference.
