Three years ago, today, I had my quadruple bypass. A big thank you to the doctors and staff at Meijer Heart Center (Grand Rapids, Mi) for the great work they performed. Also, Sharon MacDermaid took care of me and I love you!

Happy 3rd Anniversary to your fixed up heart!

Happy 3rd Anniversary to your fixed up heart!

03/04/2020

As March 30 passed by, I found happiness in being alive and looking back on my CABGX4 photos and posts. Many good people supported me and my family, along with Sharon MacDermaid taking charge and helping me mend. All is well, and I hope everyone stays healthy in the strange madness we have here in 2020. Peace!

Two years ago, today, my body decided to have a heart attack due to the clogged arteries around my heart. Thank you, once again, to the fine people at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo who took care of me. It was a crazy day.

Just checking in to say that all is going well. Hope to continually improve each day!

Had a funny thought.
I believe I have taken more medication from March 1st 2018 to today then I had taken from February 28, 2018 back to my birth. Feels silly, of course, but I never really took very many meds during the first 46!

So around this time last year I was recovering at Meijer Heart Center from a quadruple bypass. Many thanks to family and friends for their love and support & to the exceptional staff at Spectrum who took care of me while I was on the mend. Seems like it has been longer than a year, but I’m glad to be here giving thanks! I’d be underselling my “thank you’s” if I didn’t also say that Sharon MacDermaid guided the ship and made sure I would be getting better. Love you!

Strangely enough, I drove to do some work in Kalamazoo today at Bronson Hospital. The difference between today and one year ago was that I also got to leave when I was done! Hard to believe a year has passed since my heart attack. A big thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Bronson for the great job they did that day.

Not to be outdone, I got home at the end of the day and had to go back to Bronson Hospital for a service call. Perhaps tempting fate twice in one day? "Not so!" says I.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing well. My body sometimes reminds me that I'm not 100%. Other than a few aches and pains I am glad to be above the ground! Cheers!!!

Just checking in to let you all know I'm doing well and appreciate knowing each day is better than the one before it. Work stress seems to be rearing its ugly head more often and I am re-learning how to deal with that. Peace!

Today was my first time not having rehab on a Monday. To celebrate I began my own workout plan by dragging Keith out of bed at 5:10am and we jogged a short route. It was a little more than I bargained for as the pavement was less forgiving than the treadmill at rehab. After a nice long day of work, Phillip and I baled hay with Farmer Joe Poulias for 2 hours. I’m spent. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow!

Good workout day today.
Did my first run on the treadmill today. It went real well. Good workout. Then after work Keith and I baled hay with Our friend Farmer Joe, followed by a bike ride. That’s enough for today!!

Started working this week! Doing ok, get tired a little faster at the end of the day. No heavy lifting of course. Rehabilitation is going real well and I am pleased with that!

It has been a month since I had my quadruple bypass. I enjoyed being outside and actually doing some things around the house with Sharon while the weather was wonderful today. But as was expected, I eventually got worn out. Looking forward to being back to 100% in the near future. Each day is better than the last. Cheers!!!

We met with Dr. Spurlock and Scott got the ok to drive again so he is one Happy Camper! He starts Cardio Rehab May 3rd...

We met with Dr. Spurlock and Scott got the ok to drive again so he is one Happy Camper! He starts Cardio Rehab May 3rd. I am back to work on May 7 and hopefully Scott will be back to work sometime in June.

Scott had another visit from Nurse Bette, his Spectrum Health Visiting Nurse and he has officially graduated from her services. :) He is doing well, we see the Cardiothoracic Surgeon next week Thursday and is scheduled to start Cardio Rehab the first week of May. Hoping to get outside today since it looks like Spring may have actually arrived in Lowell.
Thanks to everyone for your continued love and support.
