A long time ago I started a file called "looking good", an official place to save all the nice things people had written to me. Many birthday cards and just letters I received from good friends. But there were other ones, from people I didn't really know, like this one. Someone from my days at Burlington College back in the 80s, where I was the youngest student in the school. Transpersonal psychology. Reading this I realize how unaware I was about the way I was perceived by other people. I surely never felt this way, and think how sad. It's very emotional reading this as it highlights the speed in which time time slips away.

I took this photo today on a quiet back road in northern Pennsylvania — pines forming a tunnel above me, the world glowing gold at the end of it. The kind of scene that makes you stop, breathe, and remember where you actually are.

We’re on a planet. Floating through space. The most intelligent beings we know of in an entire galaxy. And yet, somehow, we spend our time fighting over politics, religion, gender, and every other line we draw between ourselves.

Meanwhile, the universe keeps spinning — silent, vast, and patient — waiting for us to remember that wonder was supposed to be our natural state.

We’re all on this road together. I just wish more people would look up and notice how beautiful it really is.

The eyes of my heart see beyond insecurity, jealousy and the noise of immaturity, very thinly disguised as moral superiority. I only have quiet pity, as the pain and psychological suffering beneath this behavior is palpable.
