68% of people change their behaviour when tracking their sleep — exactly why I recommend it in every keynote, especially for high performing teams.

Awareness is the first step to change.

For high performers, you seek success… so this enables you to be mindful, cognisant and aware of how well you’re ACTUALLY doing….. and make change accordingly.

HOWEVER! It is essential to know the MEANING of these metrics.

- Slow-wave sleep = energy, focus.
- REM = emotional regulation, decision-making.
- Cortisol = stress levels.
- Recovery score = your capacity to show up and deliver.

Relying on a feeling?

Too easily skewed by stress or overwork.

Objective data — your nightly scorecard — tells the truth.

It’s why sleep tracking is one of my Five Fundamentals, and why I embed it into every keynote I deliver.

Grateful to share this at the Sydney Marathon Expo….. and with you.

Delivering my keynote ‘Sleep Like An Athlete’ at Sydney Marathon Expo... HONOURED!!! Optimising rest, recovery and race day performance, this was designed not only for athletes, but for fitness loving professionals. Because:

Sleep → drives your fitness → drives your performance at work.

It’s a performance triangle — and if one side is weak, the whole system collapses.

When you optimise your sleep, you instantly elevate:

🏋‍♀️ Training quality

Deep sleep increases muscle repair, growth hormone and recovery — meaning better workouts with less fatigue.

🧠 Cognitive performance

REM sleep enhances executive function, problem solving and creativity — essential for high-stakes leadership.

💼 Work output

Well-rested leaders have higher resilience, better emotional regulation and faster decision-making.

Sleep is the differentiator for fitness-oriented professionals who want consistent results. Work hard, train hard, recover harder.

After success delivering this keynote with Sydney Marathon Expo, NRL Bulldogs and Fitbit, I am proud to offer this alongside my signature keynote, Sleep for Peak Performance.

70–80% success rate for helping you return to sleep — the number one problem I see.

From my keynote at Wanderlust, here’s what I shared:
The first step is simple — but almost no one does it.
When you wake in the night and can’t fall back asleep… get out of bed.

This is called stimulus control, a cornerstone of CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia) — the gold-standard clinical treatment for sleep disorders.

Why does it work?
Because when you lie awake scrolling, your brain starts to associate your bed with wakefulness — not rest.
Every minute on your phone floods your brain with blue light, suppressing melatonin, your sleep hormone.
Every moment of frustration raises cortisol, your stress hormone — making sleep even harder.

In contrast, getting out of bed, avoiding light, and returning only when drowsy retrains your brain to sleep efficiently and deeply.

What happens when you master this?

You reclaim calm at 3am — and clarity at 9am.

You lead meetings with focus instead of fatigue.

You respond with empathy instead of reactivity.

Sleep isn’t just recovery — it’s for performance and productivity.

💼 For leaders serious about unlocking peak performance for their team throughout 2026, it starts with sleep.

Sleep: your ultimate strategy for success - performance, productivity, and sustained competitive edge.

Here’s what the science shows:

🧠 Sharper thinking:
Quality sleep optimises the frontal lobe — the brain’s CEO — responsible for judgement, innovation, impulse control and executive function.
When you sleep well, you make better decisions.

⚡ Faster execution:
Cognitive processing speed improves significantly when the brain is rested.
Studies show beta amyloid builds up in the brain after insufficient sleep — meaning more errors, slower output, reduced effectiveness.

📉 Reduced burnout:
Well-rested teams are 94% less likely to burn out, with higher resilience, stronger emotional regulation and greater adaptability.

📈 Real productivity gains:
Workplace data shows insufficient sleep reduces productivity by 29%, with measurable increases in mistakes, rework and time wasted. Well-slept teams perform better — consistently.

💡 Creative intelligence:
REM sleep enhances creativity, idea generation and problem-solving — crucial for leaders navigating complex environments.

💼 Leadership presence:
Sleep improves emotional clarity, communication, and interpersonal connection — vital qualities for high-performing executives and culture-driven organisations.

When sleep is optimised, performance follows.

When sleep is neglected, performance suffers — every single time.

High-performance isn’t about working harder.

It’s about working smarter — and sleeping smarter.

I share this advice in my keynotes across AU, Asia and USA, on behalf of some of the world’s leading brands - Samsung, The Westin, Audible, IKEA.

I help organisations unlock the competitive edge they didn’t know they were missing.

Tried everything but still can’t sleep? Here’s what to do.

Sarah, a guest at my recent retreat at the luxury Kempinski Bali, asked me this exact question.

Here’s what I shared:

When you’ve done all the “right” things — dark room, no screens, magnesium, meditation — yet sleep still won’t come, it’s usually not about what you’re doing, but how your body is responding.
Your nervous system may be overstimulated, your cortisol rhythm out of sync, or your temperature regulation misaligned — all subtle but critical factors that determine whether your brain can shift into rest mode.

I teach that there are five fundamental pillars of sleep success — each one must be optimised to ensure deep, restorative rest. From crafting a bulletproof bedtime routine to creating a circadian sleep sanctuary, every element must align. (Watch my other videos for the full framework.)

Most importantly, you need to honour basic biological principles: light and temperature are the two biggest factors influencing your circadian rhythm. Get these right, and you create the foundation for every other habit to work.

This is what I share in my corporate keynotes and workshops — evidence-based frameworks to help high performers, leaders, and teams sleep smarter, think clearer, and perform better.

With 3 in 4 Aussies struggling with sleep — and 91% of perimenopausal women affected — this isn’t just a personal issue. It’s a community crisis. And leaders of our community need to take action: now.

You track the success of your business, but do you track the success of your sleep?

If not, how can you know, with objective, quantifiable data, if you’re on track… or not?

You track your KPIs, sales targets, engagement… But your sleep metrics?

If you’re not tracking them, you’re flying blind.

You can’t optimise what you can’t measure — and sleep is no different.

Data from your sleep tracker or wearable isn’t just about how long you were in bed.

REM, deep sleep, time awake, sleep consistency - these factors matter: it’s about what your body actually achieved while you were there — recovery, repair, cognitive reset.

But…. Do you know how much of each you need?

Do you know what each does for the body?

Do you know what to do if you’re REM or deep sleep is off track?

These are the exact insights I share in conferences, summits and keynotes.

Curious to learn more?

Let’s have a call.

Give your team the advice they need to sleep, rise and thrive in 2026… you’ll wish you had done it sooner.

We are 94% less likely to burn out when we are well rested.

That’s not a wellness cliché — it’s neuroscience.

Sleep restores our prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for focus, problem-solving and emotional regulation.

It recalibrates our stress response system, lowering cortisol and improving resilience.

It also enhances executive function, meaning better leadership decisions and fewer reactive ones.

Yet despite all this, fatigue remains one of the greatest threats to performance — and to people.

Globally, burnout costs organisations an estimated $322 billion per year in turnover and lost productivity (WHO, Deloitte).

When we sleep well, we don’t just recover — we rise higher.

In my keynote Sleep for Peak Performance, I help leaders and teams:

✅ Rebuild cognitive capacity and decision-making under pressure

✅ Reduce burnout risk through evidence-based recovery frameworks

✅ Create cultures that sustain performance — not just demand it

Because the truth is simple:
Sleep isn’t time off. It’s time invested.

If your 2026 conference or leadership offsite is about driving performance, wellbeing, and innovation — make sure sleep is part of the strategy.
