Turning on NHS App notifications is a simple way to help the NHS save money while staying informed about your healthcare.

Notifications can remind you about appointments, test results, prescriptions and important updates, helping reduce missed appointments and unnecessary letters or texts.

Using the NHS App makes it easier to manage your health in one place, saves time for NHS services and helps resources be used where they are needed most. Making this small change can have a big impact for you and the NHS.

What we use notifications for in the NHS App, and how to turn them on or off.

Travel Vaccinations
If you are one of the lucky ones who is off on your holidays, please remember to give us at least four weeks notice when completing your Travel Vaccines Questionnaire - this gives our Nurses time to look into your medical record and check previous vaccinations and also gives us time to find you an appropriate appointment - we seem to have had a bit of an influx of last minute requests and we don't have the space to process the questionnaires in time and get you an appointment. Nurses are blocked time to do the Travel Questionnaires and are fully booked at all other times so they can't "just squeeze you in". Sorry 😕

Travel Questionnaire Once you have completed and submitted this form, please give the Surgery a call in approximately five working days (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) to see what vaccinations you may be due. This will give the Nursing Team enough time to review your previous vaccinations and...

On this Christmas Eve, we would like to wish all our patients a restful, happy and healthy Christmas Day. We are closed just for Christmas Day and Boxing Day then reopen as normal on Saturday. If you need any health care when we are closed, please contact 111 (or 999 in an emergency).
Thank you to everyone who donated fabulous prizes to our raffle - your generosity has been amazing and hugely appreciated. We will be having our Staff Charity Christmas Raffle at lunchtime today so will let you know how much we have raised for our Charities as soon as possible. Happy Christmas everyone 🥳

16/12/2025

To all our lovely patients. We are once again collecting donations of prizes for our Christmas Staff Charity Raffle - last year we had some fabulous donations like hampers, cheeses, wine, chocolates, fancy biscuits, honey - all sorts!! You name it, we'll raffle it!

Our nominated Charities for this raffle and next year are Stroke Association (https://www.stroke.org.uk/) and Walking with the Wounded (https://walkingwiththewounded.org.uk/) so every penny raised will go directly to these two Charities.

Many thanks for your support.

Polite Plea - URGENT appointments - these are for patients who NEED to be seen urgently on the day.

Clinical Pharmacists at most high street Pharmacies (such as Boots) can offer you appointments for minor illnesses, coughs, colds, cut fingers, small injuries etc. Please consider using this for advice and treatment of Minor cuts, aches, and pains, Coughs, colds, and flu symptoms, Skin infections and rashes, Upset stomach or general sickness.

An urgent on-the-day GP appointment is for conditions that need quick assessment but aren't life-threatening emergencies (like needing A&E), covering symptoms that are severe, worsening rapidly, or causing significant concern, such as high fever, severe pain, breathing issues, signs of serious infection, acute mental health crises, or sudden neurological problems, ensuring prompt care to prevent deterioration.

We want to make sure that patients with the most urgent health
needs are prioritised and receive the right care as quickly as possible. We only have so many hours in the day (and only so many Clinicians on hand to deal with Urgent cases whilst still seeing patients for Routine appointments) and at the moment the demand for appointments is huge due to winter illnesses.

What happens when you call:

Our trained Reception team will ask you a few short questions when you call. This is to help them direct you to the most appropriate care as quickly as possible. They may suggest that you need to seek advice from a Pharmacist, Optician, a Dentist or 111.

111 Online is a fabulous resource for guidance on Self-Help - https://111.nhs.uk/triage/check-your-symptoms

Many thanks for bearing with us during this busy time.

Next week, we will have bottles of local homemade apple juice for sale at both sites and all proceeds will be going to our current 2025 charity Wiltshire Treehouse. We only have about 45 bottles in total to sell so it will be a first come first served. They are from this year's bumper crop and very recently bottled. It will be cash only please - £4 per bottle. Please consider buying a bottle or two if you're passing by!
