What does preserving your peace mean to you. It could be setting a boundary or agreeing to disagree over a point. It could also mean to not react to a situation because it doesn't deserve your energy. Your mental peace is sacred and should be protected all the time.

Become your own cheerleader! You are closest friend and confidante. Today, recognise the qualities that set you apart from everybody else. Even the tiniest ones. YES! You matter. Reaffirm those qualities and use them to bring out the best version of yourself which no one can compete with.

To understand the origin of the 'people pleaser' mentality, one has to reflect on how they were raised as a child.

One of things parents often do to correct a child's behaviour is by comparing them to someone with whom they don't have a good relationship with. Doing so, may stop the behaviour permanently but it has a lasting negative effect on the child's psyche. As an adult, that child would always strive for validation because now they feel that is the only way to know that they are doing things right. Plus the fear of judgement would make them second guess their decisions all the time.Parents need to remember that they are their child's first point of reference and would internalise whatever they say.

Using positive feedback is a wonderful way to encourage better behaviour and achieve the desired result. It goes a long way in raising independent, confident and wholesome individuals ready to face the world!

No disrespect to parents or caregivers since you are doing your best to raise your children :)

Day 6 of Journaling:

Look back at what you think was the toughest times in your life, when you thought you won't be able to overcome it. It was overwhelming for you. Cut to the present day, you have overcome that phase, alive and kicking. Sure that phase may have taught you some lessons in life, but most importantly, you got through it.

Whatever you are dealing with at the present moment may be stressful for you. But circumstances change. You will find the ability and strength to challenge your situation and win. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
