· dragon · year · studios Master your physical and spiritual journey through a diverse array of sessions, including Pilates, Barre, Yogalates, and Meditation.

Over 25 years ago, my Pilates journey began with the discovery of a DVD attached to a magazine at my local bookstore in Poland where I grew up –— Basi Pilates, led by the inspiring Rael Isacowitz. Since then my commitment to Pilates has remained unwavering and Pilates training further ignited my exploration of the mind and body connection, a journey that endures to this day. Every discipline I delve into incorporates the core Pilates principles of concentration, control, centering, flow, precision, and breathing — resulting in a focused, meditative, comprehensive, and revitalizing practice. I appreciate the versatility these disciplines offer, providing adaptable workouts suitable for everyone — whether you're a complete beginner, undergoing rehabilitation for injuries or skeletal-muscular issues, or an athlete seeking a dynamic workout that fosters strength while preserving flexibility. In 2011, I became a certified Mat Pilates teacher, and followed with Barre teacher training in 2013. This spring, I commence my Pilates Reformer teacher training with Stott Pilates, which incorporates contemporary principles of exercise science and rehabilitation. In tandem with Pilates, I've dedicated years to practicing Yoga, integrating various breathing and meditation techniques such as Metta, Yoga Nidra, Vipassana as well as Transcendental Meditation. My fascination with soma psyche has always driven me to explore neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy. Combined with knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and nutrition, my mission is to guide others toward achieving holistic well-being.

"One of the benefits of barre is that you don't have to be trained in ballet, yoga, or Pilates to give it a go. As a medium-intensity workout, classes are typically slower in place compared to more vigorous workouts. Suitable for those who are just beginning to work out, barre classes are low-impact and rely on what are called isometric contractions (per Self), which require you to use your own body weight as a form of resistance."

"Fitness can be broken down into three types of exercises: resistance, aerobic and neuromotor training. Most physical workouts usually fall between the first two categories, but neuroscientist Nicole Vignola explains that ballet and barre involve all three, which is particularly valuable for your brain."

Ballet fusion classes are a great mental workout.
