Do you try to make your child eat but it turns into a battle?
Eating is the most complicated action kids do on a daily bases and evidence shows that pressure during meals can disrupt hunger cues.

Here I am sharing a few strategies to make your mealtime a happy and stressfree experience.

Struggling with mealtime battles? You're not alone — and you're not powerless! Here are 5 expert-backed strategies to make feeding your picky eater smoother, more enjoyable, and actually successful. 🍽️💪

1️⃣ Fix the Chair, Fix the Focus
A proper, supportive seating position helps your child feel stable and ready to eat. Feet supported, back upright — posture matters more than you think!

2️⃣ Build a Predictable Routine (with Clear Start & End)
Kids thrive on structure. Start mealtime the same way each time — like washing hands and setting the table. End it clearly too — like helping clean up or returning utensils to the kitchen. This gives a sense of control and teaches boundaries around food.

3️⃣ Start feeding routine With a Favorite Food
Kick off the meal with a small portion of something they love. This builds trust and sets a positive tone — they’ll be more open to trying new foods afterward.

4️⃣ Ditch the Distractions
No screens, no toys — just food and connection. Mealtime should be about engaging with each other and the food, not competing with cartoons or toy cars.

5️⃣ Make It Fun and Age-Appropriate
Play is how kids learn. Turn broccoli into trees for dinosaurs, make smiley faces on the plate — whatever suits their cognitive stage. Keep it playful, pressure-free, and positive!

*Most important Do NOT put kids into Fight or Flight mode by forcing or being harsh with them*

Yes it takes time and patience but You can do it! :)

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially certified with PROMPT! 🎓

For those who might not be familiar, PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) is an evidence-based approach to treat motor speech disorders. It’s a hands-on technique that helps individuals improve their speech by targeting the physical production of sounds. Essentially, it's like equipping my fingers to facilitate speech production!

I’m excited to apply this powerful skill and continue supporting those with speech challenges on their journey to clearer communication! 💬
