Students learned various facts such as how kidney health is a vital part of reducing risk of developing kidney cancers, that screening for colorectal cancer should begin in adults of average risk at age 45, and how multiple myeloma also affects the kidneys.

Leadership isn’t defined by a title — it’s defined by influence, initiative, and impact.

For this month’s SNPhA Surge Challenge, we explored four leadership styles and how they show up in pharmacy, healthcare, and student organizations:

✨ Transformational – Inspires change through vision
🤝 Servant – Leads by putting others first
🔭 Visionary – Aligns teams around a future goal
🗣 Democratic – Encourages collaboration and shared decision-making

There is no single “right” way to lead. The most effective leaders understand their natural style and adapt to meet the needs of the moment.

In fast-paced, interdisciplinary spaces like pharmacy, leadership begins exactly where you are — in the classroom, clinic, community, or committee room.

Which leadership style resonates most with you?

This month, our students had the opportunity to learn about the Ryan White Care Act through a meaningful partnership with LMBI. We explored the impact of HIV advocacy, access to care, and the importance of supporting underserved communities. Grateful for spaces that allow us to grow not only as future healthcare professionals, but as advocates.
