Taking handmade to another level this year 🌟
The kraft paper fan cards turned out just the way I imagined — with a golden touch painted on. ✨
Cutting and printing each product description card myself might be something I am rethinking 🤭 it’s been a bit of a challenge! Keep an eye on stories for the bloopers.
This batch smells incredible 😋 with the new season of Frankincense carterii bringing a deep, grounding undertone, Golden Jojoba from Israel, and the same old faithful Bach Star of Bethlehem essence.
It’s multi-dimensional: the roller isn’t just a blend of essential oils, but also an infused oil — enriched with real resins that slowly transform the scent and texture over time. As it matures, it becomes more complex, sticky and rich.
And the magical part the gold dust shoots light through the whole blend, illuminating the Star of Bethlehem essence within. ✨

My in-between life before settling in Stellenbosch 🌿
Drinking coconuts 🥥, clearly only eating fresh fruit and nasi goreng 🍚, and living my dream.
After mostly fun years studying, completing honors, barely surviving long hours of articles, and finally becoming a Chartered Accountant 📚, I couldn't wait to go back to Asia a second time, but for longer.
What was meant to be a three-month trip to Thailand🏝 turned into four unforgettable years living in Bali and a shorter stay in Vietnam .
Bali days were filled with yoga 🧘♀️, jamu 🍃, breathwork, natural food 🥗, and evenings surrounded by nature — fireflies in the rice paddies , beautiful sunsets 🌅, many of them with my chickens . And of course, going to the Gili Islands 🏝 as many times as financially possible.
A transformative time just before Ylang Leanne began to take shape — a brand now inspired by those memories, rituals, scents, and natural indulgences ✨

A useful tip for everyday use: a 5% dilution is the best for most blends, and it's super easy!👩🔬🌿🌼
For a 10 ml roller, you'll simply need 10 ml of carrier oil and 10 drops of essential oil. It is easy to remember.⚗️
👃 Remember some oils are stronger in smell than others, and you will have to adjust your ratio a bit, but you always have your nose to guide you to a great blend.
For children, sensitive skin, subtle conditions, less is more.👶🏻👵🤍
I always keep in mind that essential oils are one of the strongest forms of herbal medicine (David Crow). This means a little can go a long way... and subtle scents work well with the subtle parts of our subconscious.🧠☺️😇🪽🧖♀️🪻

The term comedogenic tells you how likely an oil is to clog your pores.
Oils are rated on a scale from 0 to 5:
0 → Won’t clog pores at all
1–2 → Low likelihood
3 → Moderate likelihood
4–5 → High likelihood
Choosing the right oils is especially important for your skin type. Lightweight, low-comedogenic oils like Evening Primrose, Kalahari Melon, and Safflower Oil absorb easily, leaving skin nourished, smooth, and breathable.
Heavier oils may be richer but could feel too heavy for these skin types, but is great for very dry or mature skin.✨🌸

114 million years ago, one morning just after sunrise, the first flower ever to appear on the planet opens up to receive the rays of the sun. Suddenly there was an explosion of colour and fragrant scents all over the planet. Humans would increasingly be drawn to and fascinated by them.
Flowers were most likely the first thing they came to value which had no utilitarian purpose for them, that is to say, was not linked in some way to survival. They provided inspiration to countless artists, poets, and mystics.
Without fully realizing it, flowers would become for us an expression in form of that which is most high, most sacred, and ultimately formless within ourselves. Flowers, more fleeting, more ethereal, and more delicate than the plants out of which they emerged, would become like messengers from another realm, like a bridge between the world of physical forms and the formless. They not only had a scent that was delicate and pleasing to humans, but also brought a fragrance from the realm of spirit - Eckhart Tolle
Ylang Ylang a flower that grows widely in Asia which means “Flowers of Flowers”. It is one of my favourite flowers, one that I smelled everyday at a farm I stayed at, called ‘Aman Giri’ or “Place of Peace” in Bali.
Ylang Ylang has a strong musky aroma and is associated with sensuality sexuality and beauty.
Named after this flower Ylang Leanne then translates to Flowers of Leanne.
Due to the shortage of high quality, organic, essential oils for use by therapist for treating emotional mental and physical conditions.
Every bottle is personally bottled, labeled and packed. Ylang Leanne also supports local and sustainable farmers.
Why organic?
The botanicals used to produce our certified organic essential oils are grown in soil that is free of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, and herbicide residues. Aromatherapy is inhaled through the olfactory system (sense of smell) and the molecules are then transferred to the brain and effects the limbic system. Toxins and pesticides are like nerve gas: they attack the brain and nervous system, interfering with nerve signal transmission. Therefore organic essential oils are essential in the practice of aromatherapy and emotional healing.
