Happy April 🌸

As the weather changes, so do our cravings. And they should! You may not be craving such heavy meals anymore, your body might be craving more water, or you might be craving more fresh fruit and vegetables.

As the seasons are changing, so is what food is in season. Seasonal eating has so many benefits internally and externally, such as benefiting your gut microbiome by consuming less pesticides and chemicals that are sprayed on %90 of fruits and vegetables, reducing your carbon foot print, and most importantly supporting local farmers!

Have you heard about the collaboration and I are doing? If not, you can read about it in my last post!

Finding the proper nutrients for your skin is kind of like a roller coaster (one that isn’t fun.) You go through the ups and downs of things that work and things that don’t. In many cases this goes on for years!

Eventually it gets tiring and expensive to continuously try different products and supplements that will support your skin type.

Internal nourishment such as omegas, probiotics, and antioxidants are miracles when it comes down to skin complaints.
Of course what you’re eating and how much water you’re consuming plays a huge factor, but I am a big believer when it comes to quality supplements.

Externally, you want you be sure the products you’re using on your skin are made from organic and natural ingredients. The skin wasn’t made for chemicals and additives, so why are they in so many products we use daily??

Weight loss is one of the top reasons people reach out for a meal plan, but weight GAIN is just as important!

If one of your goals is to gain weight (muscle mass) it’s incredibly important you’re getting an adequate number of calories and proper ratio of macros.

• • Here’s a tip, your protein intake should be somewhere around 2g per kg of body weight per day • •

For example if your weight is 150lbs (68kgs), your protein intake for the day (if trying to gain weight) should be around 136g.
That is if you’re exercising regularly and living an active lifestyle.

And if you’re not someone who has ever tried counting macros/calories, I feel you I don’t enjoy it either. But that’s why I’m here, is to do the work for you!

Fatigue is one of the most common reasons for visits to the doctor. One area that is often confusing is the role adrenal function plays on fatigue. Adrenal exhaustion is a frequent cause of fatigue!

The adrenal gland creates cortisol, an important stress hormone which controls many of the functions which effect energy production. Cortisol maintains blood sugar levels, fights allergies and inflammation, and helps us survive stressful situations.
Cortisol is a hormone we cannot live without. However, with the stressors we face today, the adrenal response can become delayed/dysfunctional leading to fatigue.

To properly asses your adrenal function and cortisol levels a test will have to be done with your doctor.

Chronic fatigue is often seen after one starts experiencing the symptoms after having exposure to viral infections, environmental exposer such as mold, or travel born illnesses. The immune response to infections or toxins like mold, leads to a state of chronic inflammation. Once this occurs it leads to chronic fatigue as well as other symptoms such as headaches, depression, digestive issue, and joint pains.

The most common hormone issue with fatigue, other than cortisol, is low thyroid function. A blood test will have to be completely with your doctor to properly asses levels.

There are DIFFERENT APPROACHES for both adrenal and chronic fatigue! The first step is always finding the root cause.

If you find yourself suffering from fatigue, please don’t further your exhaustion by trying a million different approaches on your own!
