Picking a prenatal vitamin can be so hard when there are soooo many & they are all different!
Remember your prenatal vitamin is to fill the gaps of your diet, so we want to focus on food first.
When picking a prenatal supplement, 3 things to look for:
1. It's third party tested
2. It contains folate/methylfolate
3. It contains choline

Other than that, focus on getting in a well balanced diet to meet the needs of your pregnancy.

LEARN BABY MASSAGE
Did you know that touch is the most developed sense at birth? When your baby was in the womb, there was little input to the brain in terms of sight or smell. Babies in utero can hear sounds from their environment, but this is muted by the whooshing of blood traveling through the umbilical arteries and vein.

Touch is the one sense that babies develop throughout their time in the womb. This is why touch is such an important way to bond with your baby.

Baby massage is great to add to your routine. It helps increase baby's serotonin levels and can also help with sleep and colic.

We all know that breastmilk is the ideal food for babies. Beyond just nutrients, it has probiotics, prebiotic oligosaccharides, and antibodies that infant formula doesn’t have.

However, we need to take the pressure off moms to breastfeed "perfectly.” Instead, let’s help parents to nourish their babies, however that works for their specific situation. It doesn't matter if your baby is 100% formula fed, 50% formula fed, or 100% breastfed - you are a worthy parent.

In our Breastfeeding Support class, there's no shaming, only 100% support for how you can best feed your child. This class is a monthly virtual Q&A with lactation expert and midwife Meg Stalnaker, IBCLC.

⭐ Second Friday of each month, Feb 12, at 11:00-11:50 PST.
Bump & Baby classes are kept intentionally small so you'll get plenty of individual attention.

🎆 These are my favorite 3 exercises to start off with in the early postpartum period. For most people, you can start these around 2 weeks after birth.

》Pregnancy-Induced Carpal Tunnel《⠀⠀
The carpal T U N N E L is a small passageway in your wrist that tendons, blood vessels + nerves run through. The nerves that run through this tunnel🛤 control the sensation + movement in your hands + fingers.⠀⠀
In pregnancy, the body retains more fluid due to ⬆️'d blood volume for you + baby (enter some swelling). Add on the fact that good ole *relaxin* is creating an extra S T R E T C H on the tissues --> cue carpal tunnel syndrome!👎 All the structures that run through the tunnel become more prone to being irritated, impinged + inflamed😬⠀⠀
Here are a few tips, tricks + tools to help offer some relief!⠀
✨Massage that focuses on the tissues of the forearms, wrists + hands specifically⠀
✨Ice and/or Heat: It can feel nice to switch back + forth with this one! Applying each one for a minute, for a total of 5-6 minutes (ice pack + hot water bottle work well!)⠀
✨Sleeping: Try your best to avoid sleeping on your affected side if you are only experiencing symptoms in one hand. Elevating your hand on a pillow while sleeping can help keep you more comfortable as well!👐⠀
✨Stretches + Exercises: After a period of rest, stretches + exercises can help to improve circulation + decrease swelling.

All uterus having folx have several ligaments that support + anchor the uterus to various spots throughout the pelvis. There are two *round* ligaments (right + left on both sides of the uterus), and they tend to be the biggest culprits of discomfort😬⠀⠀
In pregnancy, as the uterus grows to accomodate baby, there is stretching + pulling of these ligaments. Depending on baby's position + your own body's journey pre-pregnancy, one or both round ligaments can often cause achy, crampy + sometimes even quick sharp sensations in the lower abdomen as they are stretched. Enter round ligament pain! (boo👎)⠀⠀
But don't fret, friends! This is where a prenatal chiropractor can help🙋‍♀️ We know how + when to check in, use low force + gentle techniques to ensure optimal alignment of the pelvic bowl, and assess for taut ligaments to help E A S E the tension + offer you the comfort you deserve until baby decides to make their debut.

Here's the breakdown of possible side effects from the Pfizer vaccine. The data for the Moderna vaccine is very similar.⠀
⠀
⚕️Many people reported feeling tired (47%), but so did a lot of people in the placebo group (33%), so keep in mind that it's actually not as bad as it looks.⠀
⠀
⚕️Almost all people can expect to have some soreness in their arm.⠀
⠀
⚕️The second dose causes more symptoms because your immune system is already primed to react against Covid mRNA after the first vaccine. ⠀
⠀
⚕️Symptoms will last 1-3 days. By the third day, most people feel completely fine. ⠀
⠀
⚕️You CANNOT get Covid from the vaccine because there is no live virus in the vaccine, only pieces of protein that Covid produces. The symptoms you experience are not directly from the vaccine but rather from your immune system turning on.⠀
⠀
If you want to hear about my personal experience, check out my reels .liyaleng on this. Although I did get sore muscles and a low grade fever, it was 100% worth it. I feel so relieved to be 95% protected from getting infected!⠀⠀

Overhead gyms are really common, but they're actually not the best toys for baby development because they are meant for babies on their backs.

Instead, try an activity quilt on the floor to encourage babies to get on their tummies.

Peanut/Therapy Balls can be very fun to use for more enjoyable TUMMY TIME! Laying a mirror on the floor below like in this video helps baby actually have fun and tolerate this position for longer. Three Cheers for great neck and back strengthening!!! 👏👏👏
