As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve across Florida, the need for strong, unified PA advocacy has never been more critical. With over 14,000 practicing PAs in our state and only a fraction actively engaged in organized medicine, our collective voice and our future depends on participation.

The Florida Academy of PAs is actively working on your behalf, advocating for legislative progress, protecting our scope of practice, and ensuring PAs remain a vital and recognized force in patient care. But meaningful change cannot happen without the strength of our membership.

Our upcoming April events provide the perfect opportunity to get involved, stay informed, and connect with colleagues who are equally passionate about advancing our profession. Whether it is a dinner meeting or an educational session, these gatherings are more than just events, they are a movement toward unity, growth, and professional empowerment.

Now more than ever, membership is not optional, it is essential. If you are not part of the solution, you risk becoming part of the problem. We encourage every PA, student, and supporter to attend an upcoming event, see firsthand the work being done, and stand with us as we shape the future of our profession.

Join us. Engage. Advocate. Your profession depends on it.

It has been a pleasure working with Representative Mike Redondo on House Bill 693, an important step forward for the Physician Assistant profession and for patient access to care in Florida.

HB 693 supports modernization of PA practice by:

• Establishing participation in the PA Licensure Compact, improving workforce mobility and access to care across state lines
• Removing the arbitrary 10:1 physician-to-PA ratio limitation, allowing practices to structure teams based on patient needs rather than outdated restrictions

These changes help strengthen healthcare teams and expand access to care for patients across Florida.

Thoughtful legislation like this allows Physician Assistants to continue supporting physicians, improving efficiency, and helping meet the growing healthcare needs of our communities.

Thank you, Representative Redondo, for your leadership and commitment to improving healthcare in Florida. It has truly been great working together on this important initiative.
