• We Teach What We Need •
A few hours after a ridiculous interaction, my nervous system was still buzzing — not from the moment itself, but from something familiar it sparked.
I spoke my truth. Clearly.
I didn’t attack.
I didn’t mock.
And somehow, the conversation kept being shoved sideways.
Diversion.
Deflection.
Gaslighting.
At one point they said,
“And YOU do this kind of work.”
It was meant as a dig.
Instead, it clarified evvvvverrryythhhhing.
Because yes — I do this work.
I teach what I need. And no, I’m not embarrassed about that.
Being regulated doesn’t mean you’re never triggered.
It doesn’t mean staying agreeable in inappropriate dynamics.
It means using the tools you know work, when you need them — even after.
It means staying with yourself when things get murky.
I’m letting my body finish what it recognized.
That’s the practice.
