The Senate is preparing to vote on the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act, and the window for action is closing fast. We need your voice heard NOW to ensure our senators know this legislation is a priority for their constituents.

The deadline for maximum impact is this week, but we strongly urge you to send your message today to ensure it reaches your senators' offices before the vote.

Why We're Reaching Out Again

First, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your incredible response to our previous calls to action. Your voices have been heard in Congress, and that momentum is critical right now. The House has already voted unanimously to pass this bill - now we need the Senate to do the same. Your continued advocacy is making a real difference in the fight for children with cancer.

Why This Moment Matters

The Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act represents a historic opportunity to transform pediatric cancer treatment. This vital legislation would authorize targeted clinical trials involving combinations of drugs to treat pediatric cancer, potentially opening new treatment pathways for children fighting cancer. It modifies requirements for pediatric cancer investigations to accelerate the development of new therapies specifically for children.

Your two state senators will be voting on this bill. Their decision will directly impact whether children battling cancer get access to the innovative treatments and hope they desperately need.

Take Action in Less Than 5 Minutes

As the Buckeyes and Wolverines take the field, we're cheering for Ohio State Football in honor of one of the greatest Buckeye coaches, Urban Meyer. He showed incredible kindness to Carson through the last years of his life, sending texts and making quick calls to check in on him. We'll always be grateful for the support he gave.

🚨 Important news for the cancer community in Texas, and for all of us fighting for better outcomes for patients and families. 🚨

This Wednesday, November 19, the CPRIT (Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas) will consider 73 new cancer research and prevention grants totaling nearly $154 million.

If approved, CPRIT will surpass $4 BILLION in total grants awarded since 2007. An extraordinary milestone and a testament to Texas’ commitment to advancing cancer research and prevention.

This meeting also marks the first for Dr. Ruth Rechis, CPRIT’s new Chief Prevention Officer. Dr. Rechis is a 30+ year cancer survivor and a respected leader in cancer prevention, with previous roles at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Livestrong Foundation.

At the Carson Leslie Foundation, we remain deeply committed to partnering with leaders across Texas to drive bold progress, accelerate research, and improve the lives of those affected by cancer β€” especially kids and teens who need breakthroughs now more than ever.
