In September 2022 we will be launching the new MedTech Innovation & Entrepreneurship MSc at King's College London

This course has been designed from the ground up to cater to the world’s ever-growing healthcare needs, providing a platform for participants to ideate, test, innovate and develop MedTech ideas.

The course is built upon a collaboration across King's Business School, Healthcare Engineering (Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences) at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, and King's Entrepreneurship Institute.

We are taking a novel approach to learning the art and science of MedTech. You will spend at least 60 hours shadowing clinicians at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to understand unmet clinical needs and patients' requirements. Combined with our extensive industry partnerships, we are creating an environment to nurture your creativity, problem solving, and engineering skills.

The students will draw from their clinical immersions during the MSc to propose their own project or work on live projects within the MedTech industry, preparing to pitch in a "Dragon's Den" style graduation event. Throughout the academic year, we will facilitate identifying and addressing healthcare challenges and equip the students with skills necessary to flourish as R&D engineers, entrepreneurs and innovators within the MedTech industry.

Another exciting aspect of the course is the ability for students to pursue courses from different schools across the university to cater to their unique interests. For example, you could learn robotics, machine learning, intellectual property, global health, among many other fabulous modules taught across the university.

Admissions are open until Friday 29 July 2022 (23:59, UK time) for Overseas students and Friday 26 August 2022 (23:59, UK time) for Home fee status students. I am eager to welcome our first cohort and I look forward to seeing how we can Engineer Better Health together.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Woman's Day '22.

Ahead of International Women’s Day 2022, Leader of the Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer MP and Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves MP yesterday (Monday, 7 March) visited the Entrepreneurship Institute (EI) at King’s College London to discuss how women can be better supported to thrive as entrepreneurs and the role universities can play in making this happen.

Proud to have Shreya (6th from the left in the picture) in the cohort. She along with Nitya are the co-founders of the first student led MedTech enterprise from the School of Biomedical Engineering at King's College London. We are taking a moonshot at hot flashes in Menopause, an unsolved puzzle for 50% of humanity.

Way to go ladies!

I am so proud as your coach who occasionally dons the jersey and gets to score the goal :)

Thanks Vikram Sinai Talaulikar for having empowered the team.

I learnt today that God took away a dear friend Abhishek Maurice from us. I used to call him my 'saviour'. He made my life at Kanpur so memorable and is part of so many memories. I feel sorry that I was not by his side. Abhishek, you will be in my memories till my last day and then we will meet on the other side.😢

COVID-19 vaccines are better than infection at making antibodies to recognize new viral variants, according to a Stanford study.

Spread , Not .

(Karuna = Compassion)

Adding to the numerous co-existing efforts, we have decided to take a systematic approach to building an Open Source Ventilator.

As the pandemic spreads, it is important that we build something that can be built anywhere, and everywhere.
Our assumption is that the assemblers would have reasonable know how and will be practitioners from a specialty hospital or a local university and will have access to basic hardware. We also believe that the local government would be assisting them.

We are trying to keep 3D printed parts to minimum, as high quality 3D printing is not yet ubiquitous. We are not using any proprietary hardware or software.

We have a modest goal: It should not be a replacement for the state-of-the art, it should be a stop-gap, but an efficient one.

Finally, it shouldn't cost more than $500.

Let's keep people breathing.

We need your help!
Please join us or forward this to anyone you know can help!

Tended to an in-air medical emergency on way from Istanbul to Delhi on IndiGo & Turkish Airlines flight. Took us (a gynaecologist from Ludhiana & myself) over 90 minutes to stabilise the patient. What I got from another anonymous co-passenger is one of the most cherished rewards I have got in a while. Thank you!

I have believed in the forces of nature (God, Allah, Christ, et. al.) all my life. If you are reading this I request you to send a prayer for my Mother's health. Maybe God would listen if more voices call!
