“𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙”—𝗠𝗔𝗬𝗢𝗥”

“Strength is not the absence of struggle, and healing is not weakness but courage in motion.”

Thus declared Mayor Benjamin Magalong in a social media post in honor of October as Mental Health Awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“As we advocate for good governance, let us also remember that leadership is not only about accountability in service: it’s also about compassion for others and care for oneself,” he said.

“To everyone facing silent battles, whether it’s the weight of expectations, the fight against illness, or the daily pressure to stay strong, know this: you are not alone. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness; it is an act of bravery,” the Mayor added.

He is urging everyone to begin the week with empathy and resilience, check our mental health and those around us, support awareness, early detection, and compassion for breast cancer warriors, and lead with kindness because every heart we uplift strengthens our community.

“True courage is not just in fighting corruption or injustice—it’s also in choosing to care, to heal, and to keep going,” the Mayor stressed.-Gaby B. Keith

🌿 ECHOES OF HOPE: A Day of Shared Stories and Healing 🌿

Today’s community talk reminded us that healing knows no age. 💖 We were deeply moved by the active participation of our beloved senior citizens, whose heartfelt stories and wisdom filled the room with hope and connection.

Despite being a young speaker, Lovely Balanoy Bomowey, Miss Benguet 2024 and Founder of ECHOMIND, inspired everyone to listen with empathy and speak with kindness. Her message resonated across generations — proving that mental wellness truly unites us all. 🌈✨

Thank you to everyone from Barangay Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet, for making this event a space of compassion, understanding, and shared healing. Let’s continue to echo hope and remind one another: healing begins when we speak with love. 💬💞

A powerful and meaningful session wrapped up with open hearts and active minds. 💬✨

After sharing about mental health, we were honored to hear from fellow advocates who spoke about HIV & STI awareness and the importance of preserving our culture. The energy was vibrant, the conversations were rich, and the youth—especially from Bakun and across Benguet—were deeply engaged. 🧠❤️🌿

This event was organized in partnership with Mr. & Miss Bakun 2024, with strong support from the Mr. & Miss Benguet advocates. Together, we’re building a generation that’s informed, empowered, and culturally grounded. 💪🏽🌄

“From survival to purpose. 💚”
This Mental Health Awareness Month, our founder — Miss Benguet 2025 — is taking the stage not just as a queen, but as a survivor, advocate, and the heart behind Echomind.
Before the crown, there was a story — of pain, healing, and rising.
And now, she’s using her voice to remind young people:
💬 You are not alone.
🌱 Healing is possible.
🫂 Your story is your strength.
Catch her talk this week as she speaks to college students about mental health, youth empowerment, and the journey from silence to advocacy.
Let’s . Let’s . 💚

April 12, 2025 — “Mentors and Mental Health Builders: Sustaining Mental Health in Buguias”

We’re so proud to share about an important event we recently held at the Socio-Cultural Center in Loo, Buguias—

“Mentors and Mental Health Builders: Sustaining Mental Health in Buguias.” This event brought together 36 passionate participants—from students to professionals, ages 16 to 45—from Buguias and nearby communities. It was truly inspiring to see so many come together with one goal: to promote mental wellness and build stronger support systems in our community.

We were honored to have several schools join us, including Guinaoang National High School, Bangao National High School, San Isidro School of Abatan, Benguet State University, Saint Louis University, Easter College, and the University of the Cordilleras. Their involvement made the event richer and more impactful.

Two key sessions really stood out. Precious Fe A. Gawec, a psychology graduate and registered psychometrician from the Provincial Health Office, helped us understand the bigger picture of mental health. Meanwhile, Nurse Honey Pearl Calixto from the Buguias Rural Health Unit gave practical advice on managing stress and taking care of ourselves—tools we all need in our daily lives. A huge thank you to the 15 volunteers from Echomind and the RHU who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event a success. Together, we are building a community that listens, cares, and heals.
