All cancer awareness is important!!!! BUT

Childhood cancer research is significantly underfunded compared to adult cancers, receiving only a small fraction of the overall cancer research budget, despite being the leading cause of DEATH by disease in children and young adults. Reasons for this include the small market for pharmaceutical investment in pediatric cancer, the "rare" nature of many childhood cancers, and cuts to federal funding….

They DESERVE more… because it’s not as “rare” as they say whenever everywhere I look there is another child with a diagnosis…especially when one of those babies is your very own. 🎗️

These kids don’t have the voice of an adult to speak out!!!

Help spread awareness for them, because without us who do they have ??

It’s been awhile since Harleighs last update! We have just been living life this summer, much different from last summer 🙌🏻!

School starts in another week so Harleigh had her oncology follow up & labs. Harleighs AFP is hanging around a 6 (you don’t want this over a 10 although there is room for fluctuations…) 3 months ago her AFP was a 9 so we will take it !

We will be back in October for another follow up with labs and a routine Ultrasound. We aren’t able to graduate to those 6 month check ups quite yet. But that’s okay! As long as my girl stays healthy and as Harleigh says “those bad cells stay away!!!”

So… Until then we will enjoy our last week of summer before Harleigh starts Pre K ! ♥️

Another follow up for our girl! Little miss is healthy as can be 💗! We were suppose to be graduating to 6 month check ups but we will be back in another 3 months to check labs again. The finicky AFP was a 9.9 this go around. Last check up it was a 10 and after two weeks it was a 5. Harleigh had a virus last check up and what do ya know… she also had a virus this Check up as well so that could have caused the slight bump…. Honestly with AFPs you can sneeze and I swear it can cause a fluctuation😅.

I’m at peace this time and I’m not going to spiral like I did last time ! I will not let the enemy win because I know my girl is healed ♥️🙏!!!

Childhood cancer deserves more attention and resources because it's a leading cause of disease-related death in children, and current treatments often have severe side effects and long-term consequences. More funding for research is crucial to develop better, less toxic treatments and improve survival rates and the quality of life for survivor🎗️💚

Today we rep our dear friends daughter Blakely Brave. Blakley & Harleigh both had the same cancer a year ago, Hepatoblastoma … Blakley had a full liver transplant & unfortunately relapsed 6 months into remission. Cancer sucks. Cancer isn’t fair…

Lift our girl Blakely up In prayer as she kicks cancers b***y 💥🥊

On this exact day last year I took Harleigh to the pediatricians office to figure out why she was not herself. She hadn’t been herself for WEEKS… she had a few viruses she just couldnt seem to get over, she was withdrawn from everyone, didn’t want to play just wanted to sit in a corner, she was emotional and complained randomly of pain in her neck. She would hardly eat and we as parents wanted answers…

This is the set of labs we got back at the peds office that made us raise eyebrows.

platelets were crazy high and her hemoglobin was pretty low… we were sent to Women’s and children’s the very next day for an ultrasound which led to her diagnosis. That will be an entirely different post…

Needless to say. This day last year our lives were about to change and we didn’t even quite know just how much… and yesterday my girl was at gymnastics doing back bends!

The overwhelming emotions this week will bring. Thank you lord for the blessings you have besstowed on Harleighs life🫶🏻.

This morning Harleigh had her re draw for her AFP and her ultrasound on her liver. I am so happy to tell everyone that Harleigh’s AFP is back down to a 5 and her ultrasound is all clear ! 🙏💚 her next appointment will now be in May. I am so thankful for everyone who flooded my baby with prayer over the last two weeks.

We are celebrating her good news today 🎉💛🎗️

We got Harleighs AFP results back this past Wednesday morning. Harleighs AFP went from a 5 to a 10 this draw. Any little jump is scary but a 5 point jump in 3 months should not be anything to worry about. After getting reassurance from not only our oncology team here in Mobile but we also reached out to our oncology team in Cincinnati and they are also NOT concerned. If you know about AFPs you know that they can be very finicky and they are never a constant draw…

That being said I have laid it all at Gods feet and I will sit in KNOWING Harleigh is healthy, healed and FINE.

We will have a re draw in 2 weeks for peace of mind♥️.

Here is a cute 101 days of Dalmatians ♥️🐶🐾!!

6 Month checkup today 💛🎗️

Dr.Harleigh today did awesome and got to see her fav nurses today!
After labs she told me “that didn’t even hurt! I was just a little nervous!” 😂

Flood us with prayers tonight that Harleighs labs all come back normal and her AFP (tumor marker) also remains normal🙏!

It doesn’t seem like 6 months ago that Harleigh finished chemo… when we were in the thick of it, it seemed impossible to invision where we are now. Lord knows I am so beyond grateful and blessed to be here. 💚✝️

If you’re having a bad day… please just stop and reflect on how significant or insignificant your problems are… if you and your loved ones are in good health, your bills are paid, you’re warm on the cold days etc…

I follow many pediatric cancer warriors and some who recently ended their battles with cancer and some who are still on hospice while they finish fighting their battle.

These parents are in the TRENCHES with grief.

STAY HUMBLE this holiday season. You don’t know until it’s you.

The morning struggle of getting your kids ready for school, the tantrums, feeling overwhelmed because of finances around Christmas time etc.

All of this is normal life. I just want you to stop and take a minute when you’re feeling overwhelmed and thank GOD that you have your health and your children are healthy and safe. Because nothing else in this world matters when it all comes down to it.
