We are proud to partner with our local schools to spread joy and connection in our communities. The people we support at The Arc Lexington enjoyed assembling Halloween treats for the students at Schoharie Central School.

✨ A Celebration of Legacy, Leadership, and Love for What We Do ✨

On Tuesday, we marked the culmination of our 2025 Service Recognition Events, honoring the 300 extraordinary Lexington employees who have dedicated 1 to 45 years to empowering lives.

Each year of service represents countless acts of compassion, creativity, and commitment — together shaping the Lexington we know and love today. To every honoree: thank you for the joy you bring, the lives you touch, and the strength you lend to our mission every single day.

We were also proud to welcome home our alumni — those retired from Lexington — whose leadership and example continue to inspire us. You remind us that once you’re part of the Lexington family, you always are.

And we celebrated a moment that truly stopped us in our tracks — the 45-year milestone of Penny Rivenburg.

Forty-five years ago, a young Apartment Aide named Penny joined Lexington with a simple purpose: to help people live their best lives. Over the decades, she has done far more than that — she has helped define who we are.

Penny’s leadership has touched nearly every corner of our organization — building programs, shaping teams, and inspiring generations of leaders. She played a pivotal role in expanding Lexington into Albany County, in nurturing the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, and in helping to build Transitions, now a nationally recognized model for supporting young adults with autism and learning differences.

Her story is not just one of service — it’s one of vision, grace, and heart. Penny has led not through titles or attention, but through belief — belief that people can grow, that programs can evolve, and that Lexington can always do more and be better.

As we close this season of celebration, we do so with deep gratitude — for every staff member who makes Lexington exceptional, for every retiree whose legacy we carry forward, and for leaders like Penny, who remind us that great programs are built by great people.

Thank you to all who make Lexington a place where compassion, innovation, and excellence truly thrive.

🌟Celebrating our Dedicated Employees in Schoharie 🌟

Today we had the joy of honoring an amazing group of employees at our Schoharie location who have reached incredible service milestones! While our celebration was smaller, it was every bit as meaningful.

Tears were mixed with laughter as we took the opportunity to focus on each person and share the impact they had made on the agency, their coworkers and the people they support. Their dedication and compassion continue to transform lives and inspire those around them.

We are deeply grateful for all who have made Lexington not just a place to work — but a place to belong.

Thank you and congratulations to our honorees!

💼 Celebrating Corporate Compliance & Ethics Week 💼

This week, we’re recognizing Lexington’s Corporate Compliance and Quality Assurance Department—a team that plays a vital role in ensuring our agency continues to meet the highest standards of excellence.

🌟 The Arc Lexington to Present at the NYS Autism Spectrum Disorders Advisory Board! 🌟

We’re honored to share that The Arc Lexington’s Transitions program has been invited to present to the New York State Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Advisory Board tomorrow, Thursday, November 6, at the Empire State Plaza in Albany and virtually.

Our CEO Shaloni Winston, Division Director Penny Rivenburg, and Transitions student and SUNY FMCC Student Senate President, Jordan Sprague, will speak about the innovative ways Transitions empowers young adults with autism and learning differences to thrive in college, careers and independent living.

The ASD Advisory Board was established to guide New York policymakers, individuals with autism, and families by studying the effectiveness of current supports and recommending ways to strengthen systems and interagency collaboration statewide.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share the impact of Transitions with state leaders and contribute to this important conversation on the future of autism support in New York. 💙
