A page celebrating and promoting the "Big Five Values" of addiction recovery This process certainly begins when the addict gets sober.

Having worked for 40 years in the addictions treatment field, I have closely observed thousands of people recover from the devastating disease of addiction. What became clear to me is that a particular and specific process occurred in these successful cases. Then they become open and available to the help and caring (love) of professionals and others. Next, those who join a supportive network progress along to a personal growth phase, and then they achieve a state of serenity with a spiritual awakening. It just works this way, every time. The recovery process is readily accessed with focused effort and commitment to action around five principles which bring complete and lasting healing to the sick addict. These "Big Five Values" are Sobriety, Love, Unity, Growth, and Spirituality (SLUGS). This page will promote and celebrate this ultimate solution to addiction. We hope you will join us in this promotion and celebration by personally embracing SLUGS and formally joining SLUGSociety. Thank you in advance for your support of this effort to educate the public and bring clarity to the issue of addiction recovery.
