The past 18 months have been challenging for everyone, and although the pandemic isn’t over yet we can be hopeful of a brighter future. At Nova Healthcare, we’re proud to be shortlisted, through parent company Aspen Healthcare, in two categories of the Covid Response Awards.

Aspen is a finalist in the ‘Best Covid-19 Response in Healthcare’ award, recognition of the work of our teams during an incredibly challenging time. Also a huge thanks and well done to Aspen’s marketing team, who have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Communications during Covid’ category.

October is - please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the main symptoms of breast cancer:

⚠️ a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts
⚠️ discharge from either of your ni***es
⚠️ a lump or swelling in either of your armpits
⚠️ dimpling on the skin of your breasts
⚠️ a rash on or around your ni**le
⚠️ a change in the appearance of your ni**le, such as becoming sunken into your breast.

If you have any of these symptoms, it may be nothing sinister, but it's best to get it checked.

Did you know we recently upgraded our pioneering Gamma Knife® treatment unit? This work involved upgrading the planning software and undertaking a source replacement for the radiosurgery system — enabling us to continue the high-quality delivery of precision treatment to patients.

Some facts about Gamma Knife® Icon™:
✅ it’s a precise way to deliver radiation to complex brain tumours or abnormalities
✅ despite the name, there’s no knife involved
✅ patients can attend as a day case, avoiding general anaesthesia
