FREE INITIAL PHONE/SKYPE SESSION to stay well, calm and connected at a difficult time. COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY ::: SOPHROLOGY ::: RELAXATION in French or English!

In these difficult and extremely challenging times, it’s so important to reach out and ask for help. By sharing your anxieties and not letting them bottle up, you elevate some of the understandable stresses and feelings of loneliness and isolation. Talking to a professional provides you with understanding, support and calm and a safe space to explore your anxieties.

As I believe solidarity is the key to go through any disaster, I offer a free initial phone or skype therapy session. Please do not hesitate to reach out or share the information around!

What is Phone therapy? Phone therapy, is the process of talking to a therapist via telephone or Skype to resolve mental health issues, beliefs, feelings and life problems. It is becoming more and more popular due to the huge growth in mobile telecommuncations and much wider access to the web. Telephone therapy is a great way of connecting to a professional therapist at a time that fits with your schedule and from a location that you prefer.

How does it work? Therapy by phone is similar to traditional face-to-face therapy. It provides a private window in which you can talk one-to-one with your therapist about issues affecting your life. Like other forms of therapy, you arrange for an initial consultation where your chosen counsellor assesses your situation. Assessment by phone often speeds up the process as there is greater flexibility with appointment times and so it is easier to ‘connect’.

Phone therapy sessions normally last from 30 minutes to an hour, but there is flexibility and so you can have shorter or longer phone counselling sessions to fit with your specific needs.

With all my thoughts.

Stress might be tied to a slightly shrinking of the brain according to the study published in The Journal of Neurology on 24.10.18. With more than 2000 healthy middle-age volonteers, doctors lead by Dr. Echouffo-Tcheugui based at Harvard Medical School, found that those with higher levels of stress hormones (cortisol, adrenaline, noradrenaline...) performed more poorly on memory and had a slightly shrunken brain volume. The study reveals an association between stress and brain function that’s consistent with laboratory-based studies on mice. Stress is usefull, even vital to a certain level, however if it remain extended in time, reducing it can have a range of benefits!

ABOUT SOPHROLOGY

I am a professional certified sophrology therapist from Paris, I moved to Cape Town in January 2018. I can offer sophrology sessions from Monday to Friday (8AM - 7PM) at my practice, 29, Sir Lowry Road, Zonnebleom, or at one's place, in English or in French.

Sophrology is the latest European trend in holistic health, well being and mindfulness. Practiced by our French president Emanuel Macron and many more influent people! This is why I am always enthusiastic about promoting this fantastic technique in South Africa!

It is a relaxation method that aims to improve and reinforce the ressources one has in order to be able to cope with any kind of stressful situation in the best possible way. It is based on occidental psychology and oriental meditation techniques, using both breathing exercices and mental visualisation exercises to help address stress and negativity physiologically, mentally and emotionally, and therefore directly improve health and mind. Sophrology helps you to become the best version of yourself!

It did become quite mainstream in Europe since the 60's, and raised a huge public interest since many famous figures such as politicians, sportsmen, astronautes... started using it on a regular basis to improve their performances, and since it can help with so many different problems (anxiety, sleeping or eating disorders, addictions, any kind of preparation... you can find all these informations on my website www.sophrologycapetown.com)
