Our Feel the Difference Fund is helping Looked After Children in Essex unlock the knowledge they need to make healthy, balanced food choices – empowering them to make informed decisions about their diet and physical health. Colourful new 'portion plates' - purchased with a grant from the fund - advise how much of a meal should consist of fruits and vegetables, carbohydrates and proteins.

We are so proud of our learning and development arm The Learning Enterprise for being awarded an overall 'Outstanding' effectiveness rating by Ofsted, with inspectors commending an approach which helps learners to “develop increased resilience, confidence and self-esteem.” Our learning offer is a key enabler in empowering our colleagues to maximise positive outcomes for the communities and people we serve.

We've moved! The doors are open from today at Sexual Health Teesside’s new home – The Fens Medical Centre in Hartlepool. The purpose-built accommodation will support us in providing free and confidential sexual health services, including information and advice on contraception and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatments.

Congratulations to our recent award winners! Our Surrey Diabetes Team won the Hypo Awareness Week Excellence Award at the Quality in Care Awards for their promotion of and work during Hypo Awareness Week in September. Our School Nursing Team in Bath and North East Somserset won the Nursing in the Community Award at the Nursing Times Awards for their 'Clinic in a Box' initiative, which helps young people to access sexual health support. We are so proud of our teams!

Virgin Care Chief Executive Dr Vivienne McVey, has been mentioned by the HSJ in a guest blog about the importance of private providers within integrated care systems. Dr McVey's comments at a recent IHPN/NHS Confed event were used to highlight these benefits.

Lot of independent providers are already working in an integrated way, which the new ICSs can learn from, and the ultimate goal for all healthcare providers is patient safety and good patient outcomes. By Lou Patten and David Hare
