On this International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls, we pause to acknowledge a painful truth: violence against women and girls is still far too common. It takes many forms: physical, emotional, financial, digital and whether visible or invisible, offline or online, its impact is devastating.

Violence is not just bruises or broken bones. It can be words that wound, control that isolates, or harassment that follows someone into digital spaces. Every form of violence, whether seen or unseen, robs women and girls of safety, dignity, and freedom.

We stand firmly against all forms of violence. We believe in creating safe spaces where respect, equality, and compassion are non-negotiable.

Ending violence against women is not the responsibility of survivors, it’s the responsibility of all of us. By listening, speaking out, supporting survivors, and challenging harmful norms, we can build a world where women and girls live free from fear.

Violence has no place here. Not in our homes, not in our workplaces, not in our communities, and not online.

This month, we honour the courage it takes for men to speak, feel, and heal.

Too often, silence is mistaken for strength. But real strength lies in vulnerability, in the quiet moments when men reach out, ask for help, or simply say, “I’m not okay.”

We remain committed to creating spaces where men can show up fully without shame, without stigma. Mental health is not a luxury, it’s a right.

Let’s rewrite the narrative. Let’s make it safe for men to heal.

In this eye-opening episode, our founder, Khanyi Tshabalala, invites you on a journey to unpack one of the most misunderstood aspects of human wellbeing: mental health.

🧠 Did you know that half of all mental illnesses begin before age 14?
🧠 And three-quarters before age 24?
🧠 Yet most people wait over a decade to seek help.

Together, we’ll explore what mental health really means, why early intervention matters, and how we can break the silence that surrounds mental wellbeing. Whether you’re navigating your own mental health journey or supporting someone else, this episode offers insight, empathy, and empowerment.

Tune in and start the conversation that could change a life.

Mental health doesn’t wait for crisis.
It doesn’t queue behind trauma or a therapist’s availability.
It lives in every breath, every boundary, every choice.

In this edition of the Lantern Newsletter, we ask: Whose Mental Health Is It Anyway?

A reflection on ownership, access, and the quiet power of daily care.

In honour of World Mental Health Day, we partnered with the University of Southampton Students’ Union Yoga Society to host a beginner-friendly yoga session with meditation and breathwork designed to support student mental health. What unfolded was more than a class, it was a collective moment of care, presence, and solidarity.

From green shirts and green ribbons to grounded hearts, students showed up not just for themselves, but for each other. Every ticket helped fund free yoga sessions throughout October, expanding access to wellness in ways that truly matter.

📸 Swipe through to see the joy, stillness, and community in action.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your breath, your presence, your support, it all makes a difference. Let’s keep building spaces where wellbeing is a right, not a privilege.

💚 Today and in this edition of The Lantern Newsletter, we hold space for those currently living through humanitarian emergencies. For the children, families, and communities whose mental health is being shaped in real time by catastrophe. May we remember that the trauma doesn’t end when the headlines fade and neither should or will our support.

Each year, World Mental Health Day serves as a global reminder of the importance of mental well-being. The theme this year, “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies”, call…
