This World Mental Health Day, we’d like you to think about one small habit or lifestyle change you can make today to help support your mental health. 1. Physical activity: Can you incorporate a daily walk into your routine? 2. Sleep: Can you give up the night time scrolling and aim for a restorative 7-9 hours? 3. Risky substances: Can you drop the weekday drink? 4. Social connections: Can you aim to meet up with a friend at least once a week? 5. Stress Management: Can you set aside a few minutes every day to practice mindfulness or deep breathing? 6. Nutrition: Can you reach for fruit instead of sugary snacks? If you choose just one tweak and try to maintain it, you might just surprise yourself with how much difference it makes 💚

Today is World Mental Health Day and offers an important reminder that our mental health deserves the same care and attention as our physical health. When we’re caught up in all our daily demands, it’s easy to put our mental health on the back burner. But it’s crucial to remember that good mental health is the cornerstone that holds together every aspect of our lives, so it deserves to be tended to first.

Most adults ideally need 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Science shows that good sleep boosts memory, mood and focus, and even strengthens the immune system. On the flip side, chronic sleep loss raises the risk of health issues such as anxiety, depression, heart disease and diabetes. Protecting your sleep is protecting your health.

Sleep isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Quality rest restores the body, strengthens the mind and balances our emotions. When we sleep well, we’re more focused, resilient and better able to handle life’s challenges. Prioritising sleep is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to care for your well-being.

According to positive psychology, celebrating your achievements -even small ones- plays a key role in boosting wellbeing and motivation. Research shows that acknowledging progress helps reinforce positive emotions, builds self-efficacy and strengthens resilience. It trains your brain to focus on what’s working, which over time increases optimism and overall life satisfaction. It’s important to remember that taking time to celebrate isn’t self-indulgent -it’s scientifically backed self-care.

Too often we rush past our progress without stopping to recognise or appreciate it. This quote from well-being expert Shawn Achor reminds us that celebrating small wins is a powerful form of self-care. Taking time to acknowledge even the tiniest steps forward keeps us motivated, builds confidence and boosts overall well-being. So pause, smile and give yourself credit -you’re doing better than you think.

Following on from my blog post about how getting into nature is a super well-being activity, I thought I’d share a video I made of our family summer in the beautiful UK countryside last year. I sometimes watch it just to relax and soak in all that stunning greenery and magical scenes!

Dreamy days in the Shropshire Hills, Eyri (Snowdonia) and Devon. Read my blog post about how getting into nature is a super well-being activity: https://www....

Just a little reminder that true abundance isn’t just about money or success -it’s about feeling fulfilled, aligned, and joyful in how you live each day. When you regularly make time for the things that light you up, you invite more energy, clarity, and purpose into your life. Whether it’s a creative hobby, spending time in nature or attending wellbeing events that inspire you, honouring what you love isn’t selfish — it’s essential. Start small, but start now -your happiness grows from those choices.
