Residents had a fantastic afternoon at the Bournemouth Pavilion Tea Dance this week 💃🕺

When resident Peter was asked what his one wish would be, he didn’t hesitate — he told us he would love to go ballroom dancing. Peter spent many happy years on the dance floor, and dancing has always been his true happy place.

We were delighted to make that wish come true! ✨

When Peter returned, he told us he had the time of his life and met some wonderful people. He’s already looking forward to the next event!

It was a lovely afternoon filled with fun, friendship, and special moments out in the community ❤️

Residents at St Ives House recently came together to celebrate Chinese New Year, enjoying a day filled with learning, creativity, and delicious food. 🏮✨

The morning began with an engaging information session exploring the Chinese zodiac calendar, with a special focus on the Year of the Horse for 2026. Residents enjoyed discovering the traditions and meanings behind the zodiac signs before taking part in arts and crafts. Handmade lanterns and decorative placemats were created to beautifully dress the tables ahead of a traditional Chinese banquet lunch.

At lunchtime, everyone gathered to enjoy a wonderful home-made menu prepared by our talented Head Chef, Jim. Residents commented on how much they enjoyed trying the different dishes, with Pam personally thanking Jim for such a fantastic meal. She shared that she is already looking forward to tasting more dishes in the future as the activity team prepares to host ‘Around the World’ themed days later this year. 🌏🍜

It was a truly memorable celebration enjoyed by all!

🥞🎉 Flipping Fantastic Shrove Tuesday! 🎉🥞

Our residents enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon celebrating Shrove Tuesday with a traditional pancake flipping competition – and what an afternoon it was!

There was so much laughter, smiles, and friendly competition as everyone gave it their best flip. A huge congratulations to resident Mike, who stole the show with an incredible 11 flips in a row 👏🥇 What a champion!

The excitement isn’t over yet… Residents are now looking forward to pancakes for supper, with a delicious variety of toppings to choose from. After holding a poll for the favourite, lemon and sugar came out as the clear winner! 🍋✨

Well done to everyone who took part – days like these are what make such wonderful memories 💛

🏅❄️ St Ives Winter Olympics Fun! ❄️🏅

Yesterday afternoon, our St Ives residents well and truly got into the spirit of the Winter Olympics with a fantastic afternoon of fun and games in the Bistro!

Taking inspiration from the big event, residents competed in their own versions of “speed skating”, “curling” and “snowball tennis” – and the competitive spirit definitely came out! There was plenty of laughter, determination, and excitement as everyone battled it out for the prizes on offer.

After an action-packed afternoon, everyone gathered together for a well-earned hot chocolate and a lovely catch-up, rounding off the day perfectly. ☕✨

Rose shared how wonderful it was to do something a little different – and couldn’t believe just how competitive she became, determined to be the winner!

A huge well done to everyone who took part – what a brilliant afternoon! 🎉

With all the wet weather lately, the residents of St Ives House put their heads together and decided it was the perfect time for a trip out ☔➡️🎳

Their destination? Hollywood Bowl UK for an afternoon of competitive (and very enthusiastic!) bowling.

Everyone had a wonderful time and said how lovely it was to do something different and get out and about. Lots of laughs, plenty of strikes… and a few gutter balls too!

A big congratulations to Mike, our overall winner 🏆 He was absolutely delighted and put his success down to beginner’s luck, having had very little experience with 10-pin bowling.

A fantastic afternoon enjoyed by all 💙

What a wonderful Christmas we had at St Ives House 🎄✨

Staff, residents and families came together to share the true spirit of Christmas, filled with fun, friendship and festive cheer. Santa arrived with his elves delivering presents, our jolly trolley made the rounds with everyone’s tipple of choice, and the celebrations continued as we sat down together to enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner.

There were plenty of smiles, laughter and special moments shared, truly a day to remember. ❤️

Fun was had by all, and we wish everybody a wonderful 'Twixmas' and 2026! 🎅🎁

🎄✨ Festive Fun at St Ives House! ✨🎄

Residents at St Ives House enjoyed a truly wonderful afternoon celebrating the festive season at our Christmas party yesterday. The room was filled with Christmas cheer as everyone sang along and danced to festive classics, beautifully entertained by the lovely Bee Chumley Vocalist 🎶💃

A delicious buffet, expertly prepared by our chef Jim, was enjoyed by all, bringing everyone together for an afternoon of great food, laughter, and friendship 🍽️❤️

It was a joyful celebration full of smiles, music, and festive spirit, a perfect way to start the Christmas period. Fun was had by all! 🎅🎁

⚽💙💕 What a winning day out for St Ives House! 💕💙⚽

On Wednesday, our residents enjoyed a fantastic morning at the Ringwood Community Hub, cheering on the Women’s Walking Football team, and even better, our very own John joined in and scored the first goal! 🙌🥅

After the match, everyone relaxed with games and a lovely afternoon tea, so kindly hosted for us. Laughter, smiles, and great company made it a day to remember. ☕🎲

Resident Pauline shared how pleased she was to attend, saying football is her favourite sport and she loved being out in the community, involved in the match and seeing everyone having fun.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this special day possible, fun was truly had by all! 😊✨

Staff and residents had a fantastic afternoon celebrating the Care South Online Christmas Party!

It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate everything our amazing team at St Ives House does for our residents and our home each and every day. 💙

Our residents were delighted to be part of the celebrations, joining us in commending the staff for their hard work, dedication, and commitment.

The afternoon was filled with festive cheer as we enjoyed a fantastic buffet, followed by a staff raffle and goody bags! 🎁🎉

✨ A Magical Evening at St Ives House ✨
Residents, families and friends came together for a wonderful evening at our annual Christmas light switch-on and Christmas fayre. The home was full of festive cheer, with stalls including a raffle, tombola, resident handmade crafts, and Name the Gonk.
Thanks to the amazing generosity of everyone who joined us, we proudly raised £700 for Parkinson’s UK, a charity very close to our hearts. 💙
With warm mulled wine, fresh mince pies, and plenty of Christmas sparkle, it was a fantastic start to the festive season.
The celebrations have truly begun at St Ives House, and we look forward to sharing more food, fun and friendship throughout the Christmas period. 🎄💫

❤️Remembrance Sunday❤️

Yesterday morning, our residents and staff came together to mark Remembrance Sunday, travelling to Ringwood to join the local community in a heartfelt morning of reflection and gratitude.

After a peaceful walk around the town centre, with a stop for warming coffees and delicious locally baked cakes, we joined the parade outside the church and walked together to the Memorial Gardens for the service of remembrance.

Everyone was moved by the beautiful displays of knitted poppies created by the local WI. Ken’s favourite were the purple poppies, honouring the many animals who bravely supported the war efforts.💜

It was a truly special morning spent together... reflecting, remembering, and giving thanks to all those who have served and continue to serve. ❤️
