Forgiveness is for you not for them!! We have been misguided about the propositions of "forgiveness". It doesn't come from environment, it's like an energy that flows from within to outer world.
The real question is who needs it?
Definitely the one who is carrying the luggage of betrayal and suffering, so do it for your mental peace without expecting a tangible reward from somebody who is forgiven.
The pivotal thing is to recognise that forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting the damage caused and letting yourself go through the same. Thus, you can forgive someone without being asked for it and chose to move on.
I believe Theory of Forgiveness implies an implicit motivation to make our lives peaceful and creating emotional space for more positive people/things to come in.
The longer we hold that grudge inside, the longer we face the pain, it's like keep scratching a wound and not letting it heal.
Forgive others and yourself as well to start the process of healing. We all need to be healed in one or another way.
Stay mindful and have utmost serenity in life.

Why do we need to seek help from a psychologist? / What is the right time to approach a psychologist?

There are times in our life when we experience stress and emotional turmoil, that is unmanageable for us. We might feel anxious, agitated, hopeless, over stressed or exhausted etc. We might not be able to enjoy life in those times and everything seems like falling apart. The role of a psychologist:
A psychologist can facilitate an individual in looking at the same problem from a new perspective. The role of a psychologist / counselor is not to prescribe ways of doing things, instead he helps the client to come up with the ways that are helpful for client to cope better. We all have some resources to get better within us, the only difference is that, at times of psychological troubles, we cannot pick the right resource from our tool kit. Hence, a psychologist facilitates to untangle the intertwined thinking patterns into a more meaningful and adaptive approach.

Anxiety is one of the most common psychological disorders. It is typically characterised by uncontrollable generalised worry and/or sudden attacks of anxiousness. There are several ways to deal with it in early stages. It's not necessary to be used only by those going through a psychotherapy. Such steps are helpful for us to clear fog created by daily stress as well and/or to improve quality of life as a preventive strategy.
If there are certain things that bother you throughout the day and make you feel anxious, start by selecting a time in the day as "WORRY TIME" and restrict yourself to think about those problems in that assigned worry time. Utilise the rest of the day to cherish the positive things happening in your life.
