Once a year, the elves in the Moray SLT department stay late after work and decorate some of our doors for the festive season! This door in particular is very special🎄🎅

Inclusive communication is an approach which enables as many people as possible to be included. Communication can look different for everyone. Some of us may use facial expressions, key word signs, spoken words, symbols or a combination to communicate with those around us! Our 'Christmas Door' includes examples of key word signs, switches, symbol based communication boards and an Object of Reference.

Sequencing skills are crucial for supporting independence with everyday tasks and the ability to tell a story 😀
So use your Christmas crafts this year to develop little ones’ sequencing skills ✂️ 📄 🎨
✅ take photos of each step 📸
✅ follow the sequence of photos and talk about each step as you do the craft activity 👀 💬
✅ after completing the craft, try mixing up the photos to see if they can reorganise them and talk about the sequence 💬

Screen Time: Tip 6

You can try linking what your child enjoys during screen time with other activities.

If you can associate an activity with their screen time interests, you may motivate them to try something new. For example, you could visit a farm to visit their favourite animals they have seen on TV!
