Whether you're traveling this week or in a cooking frenzy (or both, like me!), the holidays are a source of excitement but also a fair amount of stress.

Tonight's vinyasa class shifts to half vinyasa to warm the body/tap into strength, and half restorative to release patterns of holding/experience the healing power of the breath.

Just clowning around with the H I P S in November!

The hips are made for more stability and less mobility, but look at all they can do! Extension, flexion, abduction, abduction, external AND internal rotation...

Join me this month to learn about hip anatomy and explore movements of the hip while standing (strength) and down on the floor (stretch).

TUESDAYS
-Vinyasa flow 6 pm
-Prenatal 7:30 pm

THURSDAYS
-45 minute flow at 6:30 pm (come after strength class!)

October focus: Finding B A L A N C E

Not just in holding balance poses, but in practicing the transitions between poses; it's when we're moving that we tend to lose balance, not when we're holding a steady pose (though we'll work on that too!).

Working with the feet, ankles, and lower legs has important benefits both on and off the mat and for all ages. We'll practice sequences to increase body awareness and rapid response so you can find equilibrium when you feel like you're falling.

June focus: Elephant trunk pose!

Definitely gave myself an abdominal cramp holding this 🤣 BUT DON'T WORRY I'VE GOT YOU COVERED! We'll explore our way into the pose gradually by stretching and strengthening the parts that matter and we'll use blocks. We'll learn a bit more about our bodies and how they receive this pose week by week. We'll focus and breathe while trying something new.

The past week has been hard for all of us. I'm slowly getting better at remembering that when I feel difficult emotions, it helps to move my body, get outside, and talk to people about it. If you need some relief, please join me tonight to move and breathe with care.

One of my recent upper body/core weight sessions at home! I've been lifting regularly since last summer and it feels GOOD. Mentally, emotionally, AND my body hurts way less than it used to (other than muscle growth sensation, aka soreness 😉). I'm not personally offering strength-specific classes, but has always had Yoga with Weights with and Yoga Conditioning with owner Lynne! PLUS...next week new strength-focused classes!
-Barre/Barre strength
-Pilates
-Circuit training/HIIT
-Strength 101

And in case you didn't know, regular ol' yoga is a great gravity-resistant movement practice 🙂. Come meet our teachers, new and not-new, at the Open House this Saturday 4/23 4-6 pm!
