LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS. (7)

In the sixth part of this series, I made you understand what the dark side of the food world looks like and I went further to explain the plague of processed foods and how addictive they could be.

In this episode, I would continue by going more practical and teaching you quite extensively about some common ingredients found in dead foods.

Let me start with MSG.

MSG is a short form name for a compound called Monosodium glutamate.

MSG is a common ingredient in processed foods. It is one of the MOST DANGEROUS and BEST DISGUISED ingredients in processed foods today.

MSG is the sodium salt of an amino acid, and looks similar to sugar or salt.

MSG doesn't alter the actual taste of food the way salt and other seasonings do. I would call it a very DECEPTIVE ingredient.

MSG majorly 'enhances' taste by increasing the sensitivity of your taste buds. In other words, it TRICKS YOUR BRAIN into thinking the food tastes good, by stimulating your taste buds. It is a very powerful chemical.

Many food manufacturers add MSG to stimulate your appetite. MSG can make you very addicted to a particular product, just like ni****ne in ci******es makes it addictive to smokers.

GENERALLY SPEAKING, the more salty or processed a food is, the more MSG or 'free glutamate' the food contains.

Glutamate or glutamic acid, comes in a bound form and in a free form. Both are found in natural protein rich foods, such as most meats, most diary products, seaweeds, mushrooms, tomatoes, fermented soy products, yeast extracts, hydrolysed proteins, nuts, and legumes.

NOTE: Only the free form of glutamate can enhance foods flavour.

Free glutamic acid is metabolized to MSG in the body.

Most of our MSG intake is found in the processed foods we consume, such as soups, salad dressings, dry milk powder, processed meats, ice cream, and the list goes on.

MSG is not only hidden in store-bought processed foods, it is also in many of the processed foods we consume in restaurants, such as fried chicken products, sausage, scrambled egg mix and grilled chicken fillet.

MSG is one of the most well-disguised chemicals in the food industry.

Food manufacturers are getting more and more creative with their presentations of MSG to the public.
Now MSG comes under the guise of names like hydrolysed vegetable (or plant) protein, autolysed yeast, yeast extract, soy bean isolate, natural flavors, artificial flavours, and autolysed plant protein, to name a few.

WHY AM I WARNING YOU ABOUT MSG?

Much consumption of foods containing MSG can result in obesity and excitotoxicity.

Research further confirms that MSG consumed by lab animals causes brain lesions of the hypothalamus.

Neuroscientists generally agree that glutamic acid (present in MSG) is neurotoxic and kills neurons by exciting them to death. YOUNG CHILDREN ARE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE....This is why parents especially must be careful about what they give/allow their young children to consume.

MSG may damage the hypothalamus, which controls appetite. A damaged hypothalamus can lead to a runaway appetite.

MSG also causes the pancreas to produce more insulin, blood sugar often drops due to excessive insulin and typically makes you hungry. This is why some people continually have cravings for processed foods.

LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS. (6)

In the fifth part of this series, I made you understand the concept of vegetarianism and the great benefits it offers to our health.

In this episode, I would be opening your eyes to the DARK SIDE OF THE FOOD WORLD and we would see more foods toward which we should exercise more caution and temperance.

From the previous episodes, it is clear that the foods we need to avoid as much as possible, are the man-made foods: processed foods, fast foods, excessive sugars, and toxic fats. THESE FOODS ARE THE REAL KILLERS IN OUR DIET especially when excessively eaten.

Let me share this story with you as narrated by an American medical doctor, Don Colbert:

"A woman walked into my office weighing nearly three hundred pounds. It was the first time I'd seen her. Her back was slightly bent with osteoporosis, and she was suffering from arthritis and shortness of breath so severe that she had to move very slowly. I examined her, performed lab work, a chest X-ray, and an EKG, and I found that she had angina, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, type 2 diabetes, and other OBESITY-RELATED problems. Her cholesterol was even over 300.

"I eat the four basic food groups," she told me (Dr. Colbert). "I don't understand why I gained fifty pounds over the past year."

"I (Dr Colbert) asked what specifically she ate. "Well I fast every morning," she began. "I miss breakfast. Then for lunch I have my four food groups: a Quarter Pounder with cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a bun. Sometimes, I have a jelly sandwich made with strawberry preserves, too. So I get my fruit.

"For dinner", she said, "I'm a meat-and-potatoes woman. I get my vegetables from potatoes and I love T-bone steaks. So that satisfies my meat group requirement. I always include bread for my grains, and I put lots of butter on it to meet my needs for the diary group. And I like a tall glass of orange juice or grape juice for my fruit group needs."

"I (Dr Colbert) was stunned almost to silence. No wonder she was obese and had a host of medical problems."

We have so many people like this woman who think they are eating well but are ignorantly killing themselves gradually.

You can imagine someone taking rice and meat for breakfast; rice, spaghetti and meat for lunch; then rice, fried plantain and egg for dinner; and the person then feels he/she has taken BALANCED DIET.

Balanced diet doesn't mean 'concoction' or mixing varieties of food anyhow, it means EATING THE RIGHT QUANTITY OF FOODS COMPRISED OF ALL THE NECESSARY NUTRIENTS PER TIME.

Alright let's continue, I hope you are following?

People who choose 'life-giving' foods over 'dead' foods, enjoy their health better and better by the day.

Dead foods are foods that have been processed beyond recognition, living nutrients have been sucked out of them, and man-made chemicals have been added to extend their shelf-life.

LIMIT TO THE BEAREST MINIMUM YOUR INTAKE OF PROCESSED FOODS (foods like white bread, instant white rice, crackers, chips, soft drinks, alcohol and so on).

Processed foods majorly enriches the food company's bank account but usually causes problems for the human body.

If processing foods made it healthier, I would support it wholeheartedly, but the reverse is the case. Processed food is without exception higher in depleted flours, sugar, salt, food additives, and usually toxic fats.

The 'creation' process that creates these 'dead foods', strips away valuable vitamins, minerals, fiber, enzymes, phytonutrients, and antioxidants.

DO YOU KNOW???....Most companies that produce processed foods, remove the fiber and wheat germ, which are rich in nutrients and sell them to health food stores. Isn't this amazing?? We buy foods that lack nutrients, fall sick, and go to the nearest health store to eventually buy these nutrients at a higher cost in most cases.

Most processed foods have a high glycemic index and raise your blood sugar, causing weight gain and setting the stage for most degenerative diseases. These dead foods, contain little to no nutrition and actually put a drain on your digestive enzymes.

With dead, processed foods, you get the worst and lose the best. Unfortunately, food companies hire the brightest minds and chemists to make their foods as addictive as possible, so you can't eat just a little bit.

Some of these branded processed foods even have brand slogans like: 'YOU CAN'T STOP AT ONE'....meaning they want you to eat more and more.

NOTE: I am not trying to drag food companies in the mud, especially those ones that produce processed foods, but I NEED US TO UNDERSTAND THE EFFECT OF THESE FOODS ON OUR HEALTH AND ENHANCE THE POWER OF DISCIPLINE AND MODERATION.

Regardless of the health implications, food companies know how to create the eye appeal, tastes, textures, feels, and smells people find irresistible.

Your five senses get so attached to these foods that the foods become your comforter and friend. Food companies also hire very bright marketers to package and promote their products in a way that appeals to you.

Children especially fall 'victim' of such colourful and enticing packaging. Products that involves putting toys in cereal boxes and cartoon characters on the outside of the boxes are so tempting for children.

See, it's time to boot dead foods out of your life. Here are the main ones you have to kick out or REDUCE DRAMATICALLY.....

LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS. (5)

In the fourth part of this series, I made you understand that no one is going to restrain your appetite for you, you have been given the power to restrain yourself by having the ability to control your cravings...WORK ON YOURSELF even as GOD HELPS YOU.

Eat what you NEED, not just what you WANT.

As I move on in this series, I would like to be MORE PRACTICAL.

Let me talk a little about VEGETARIANISM.

Vegetarianism is the practice of abstaining from the consumption of meat (red meat ,
poultry , seafood, and the flesh of any other animal ), and may also include abstention from by-products of animal slaughter.

A person who practices vegetarianism is a VEGETARIAN.

One could be a vegetarian for several reasons, especially for moral, religious, or health reasons.

I am not a promoter of STRICT VEGETARIANISM but I know there are MANY health benefits connected to EATING LOTS OF VEGETABLES, FRUITS, NUTS AND GRAINS without eating meats or eating little meat.

It should be noted here that animal products are also quite nutritional, and sometimes contain nutrients that can't be found in plants.

Thankfully, humans are OMNIVORES....so this series is not trying to push you into being HERBIVOROUS but to let you know that we are to properly balance our diet.

In essence, if you ask me, the best health insurance policy is to EAT MORE PLANT BASED FOODS and VERY LITTLE animal based foods, it could be in a ratio of 70 percent to 30 percent. This is one of the best way to keep your body strong and almost disease resistant.

EVERY FOOD IS GOOD once eating MODERATELY with TEMPERANCE.

I know some religions still forbid some certain foods, but let me quickly say again that EVERY FOOD GOD CREATED IS GOOD.

As Christians, of which I am one, YOU ARE FREE TO EAT ANYTHING YOU WANT. Your diet will not necessarily keep you from going to heaven, BUT IF YOU CONTINUALLY EAT UNHEALTHY FOODS, YOU WILL GET THERE MUCH SOONER. As Paul wrote, 'ALL THINGS ARE PERMISSIBLE, BUT NOT ALL THINGS ARE BENEFICIAL'. The truth is this, BE MODERATE.....'LET YOUR MODERATION BE KNOWN TO ALL MEN'.

I am not trying to promote strict vegetarianism, but I need you to know that vegetarians on the average, live longer and may have lower incidences of heart disease and cancer.

One study showed that vegetarians under the age of sixty-five were 45 percent less likely to suffer a heart attack than meat eaters. A significant study of Seventh Day Adventists, who ate little or no meats, showed increased longevity of life of 7.28 years in men and 4.42 years in women.

Like I earlier said, I am not advocating cutting meats out entirely, but the MOST IMPORTANT KEY here is to practice temperance, ESPECIALLY WHEN EATING MEATS. Eating the right foods makes you physically healthy and WISE.

When you eat the wrong foods, YOU FALL BENEATH YOUR POTENTIAL.

LET'S GET BACK TO THE BASICS......Increase your intake of fruits, vegetables, and healthy nuts. As much as possible, choose whole-grain breads over white breads.

As we continue in this series, we will learn more about the DARK SIDE OF THE FOOD WORLD and see more foods toward which we should exercise more caution and temperance.

LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS. (4)

In the third part of this series, I made you understand that MOST PEOPLE ARE OBESE TODAY AND SICK BECAUSE THEY FEED REGULARLY ON DEAD FOODS.

Let's fire on.

People who restrict their calories live longer.

More than two thousand studies support the fact that a low-calorie, optimal nutrition diet is capable of extending life by 30 to 50 percent.

The 2004 movie, 'Super Size Me' chronicled one man's switch to an all McDonalds diet. Interestingly, IN JUST 30 DAYS, this man's weight 'escalated' from 185 to 209 pounds, his cholesterol went up a whooping 65 points, and his body fat jumped from 11 to 18 percent.
Now, this does not include what he suffered from mood swings, high blood pressure, and symptoms of addiction.

This movie just shows us how many people treat their bodies, all in the name of eating in/from KFC, Mr. Biggs, Sweet Sensation and so on.

Though eating from this 'high class' food restaurants is not a bad idea in itself, MODERATION IS KEY.

The MAIN REASON many people are obese is simply GLUTTONY, and christians are no exception.

Think about this: How often are church functions centered around food? Some churches serve donuts and soft drinks regularly so as to raise their
attendance numbers. While this practice in itself is not entirely bad, we have to look at the medical implications surrounding such 'sincere' gestures.

A study from Purdue University in America, found that religious people are more prone to being overweight than non-religious people. Think about it.

True christians often think that because they do not smoke, drink or party hard, they can eat all they want! Then they reap what they sow in obesity, heart disease, cancer, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and loss of quality of life.

Webster's dictionary defines gluttony as 'excess in eating and drinking.' The Bible equates it with drunkenness and uncontrolled eating: Please permit me to share this Bible verse with you....Proverbs 23:20-21, NIV: Do not join those who DRINK TOO MUCH or GORGE THEMSELVES WITH MEAT, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rag.

The word, glutton, could also mean 'ravenous eater of meat'....This describes a lot of men in particular.

If you want to experience the harsh reality of some people's lack of restraint and lack of moderation, simply go to a buffet where people are allowed to serve themselves.

It is amazing how sometimes some people load up their plates with meat, potatoes, white rice mixed with brown (ofada) rice, macaroni, spaghetti and so on. In fact, some will eat as if they have never seen food before.

Personally I believe that food is not at the root of the overeating issue, it actually goes much deeper than that. Just like money, the love of food is the root of most medical maladies. I hope you get!!

Gluttony is much more a spiritual and psychological problem.

Gluttony, or overeating, is a spiritual and emotional problem first, and a dietary problem second. Gluttony is simply a lack of temperance.

I know quite a number of people would not agree that they are gluttons, we may not like to think of our weight problems as gluttony, because confronting our emotional issues can be painful, in most cases.

Many times, people who struggle with weight problems, experience self-loathing, loneliness, low self-esteem, depression, guilt, and shame.

The root cause of MOST weight problems is EMOTIONAL.

To overcome gluttony, one's body, mind (emotions) and spirit need to be 'treated'.

Your mindset needs to be changed and renewed so as to overcome any weight problems. You might need to confess scriptures daily, paste reminders around your room or office or put reminders on your phone or other electronic gadgets. You might even need to meditate more so as to overcome any emotional problem. Yes, you have to be emotionally intelligent to eat RIGHTLY. It is as serious as this.

Your health is first spiritual then physical. I believe the spiritual controls the physical. Don't think I am trying to go off point, but EXPERIENCE HAS PROVEN THAT 'YOUR MINDSET GOES A LONG WAY TO AFFECT YOUR HEALTH'.

No one is going to restrain your appetite for you, you have been given the power to restrain yourself by having the ability to control your cravings...WORK ON YOURSELF...GOD HELP YOU.

Don't give up on trying to EAT RIGHT. Practice temperance, moderation, portion control, and self-restraint when it comes to food. This would have a real and lasting effect on your health. Trust me.

EAT WHAT YOU NEED.....not what you want.

Beware of junks, processed sugars, fried foods, and any other food that is unhealthy....Always remember.....MODERATION IS KEY.

In the second part of this series, I rounded off by letting you know this:

WHEN YOU EAT, CHEW YOUR FOOD THOROUGHLY, PUT YOUR CUTLERY DOWN BETWEEN BITES, AND EAT SLOWLY (NOT TOO SLOWLY THOUGH). GIVE YOUR BRAIN TIME TO SEND THE 'STOP' SIGNAL TO YOUR BODY.

Don't just eat the right foods, eat the right way. Eating right is SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Let's move a little further.

Millions of people suffer in their bodies because they eat the wrong foods, and not just that, they eat the wrong way too.

Many people load up their bodies with extra weight, more than their body frames were designed to carry, by eating so much junks.....then they wonder why their knees and hips are wearing out, and why they are developing arthritis, ankle problems, lower back pain, degenerated disks, and more.
Interestingly, that's their body's way of saying, "QUIT PUTTING SO MUCH WEIGHT ON ME!".

Have you ever wondered why some people can't seem to lose weight and keep it off, despite the harm of being overweight or obese??

Let me give you some basic reasons:

1. Dead foods are becoming cultural everyday:
Many children, teens and youths nowadays are being raised and encouraged by the food industry to eat much foods that contain lots of fat and sugar but little nutrient. Foods like noodles, apple pie, cakes, biscuits, fried foods and so on, are the new norm in today's dieting culture. This is actually appalling and sickening.

2. Dead foods seem to be more convenient to eat and readily available:
In many food stores, provision shops, and restaurants, dead foods seem to be the order of the day.
There isn't any fast-health-food restaurant in Nigeria and many other countries...to the best of my knowledge.

3. Dead foods are a vicious cycle:
People fall into a cycle of eating sugar, and the cycle perpetuates itself.
Dead foods actually can be very addictive. For example, when you eat a doughnut or a piece of cake or pie, you get a sugar rush but several hours later, you get the whiplash effect, where your blood sugar level drops, and you crave for more processed sugars to spike your blood sugar level. In this way the cycle of eating more and more sugary or starchy foods continue and for this reason many are pre-diabetic and diabetic.

4. Sometimes, our hormones make dead foods look good:
This is especially true when women are pregnant, on their periods, or are going through menopause.
They generally crave sweets, starches, and chocolates. Moderation and discipline is key when dealing with our hormones.

5. Dead foods give temporary comfort:
When people are excessively stressed, they tend to eat dead foods more. Excessive stress causes high cortisol levels, which cause cravings.
For most people, during periods of stress, they reach for dead foods like sweets, chewing gums, creamy, starchy and salty items in general to ease their stress temporarily. It is rare for people to go for broccoli or carrots when they want comfort.

LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS. (2)

In the first episode, I summarily told you that despite the confusions regarding some foods and their health benefits, ONE PRINCIPLE WILL ALWAYS STAND. Here is the principle once again: LIVING FOODS (such as fruits, veggies and whole grains) WILL ALWAYS BE HEALTHIER for you than processed foods (such as hotdogs, shawama and chicken fries).

Okay let's continue.

All foods are not created equal, most times, different foods have different nutritional properties and composition.

It's important to also note that some foods are not even meant to be labelled 'food' in this present day, they should rather be called 'consumable products', as they are edible, but VOID OF NOURISHMENT. Some foods can be compared to bubble gums (or 'chewing gums') which is to be chewed, not swallowed and thrown away after.

Living foods were created not just for our consumption but for our NOURISHMENT. Living foods exist in a raw or close-to-raw state. Living foods include FRUITS, VEGETABLES, SEEDS, and NUTS.

Living foods are beautifully packaged in divinely crenated wrappers called skins and peels.

Living foods look robust, healthy and alive.

Living food has no chemicals added to it. It has not be bleached or chemically altered.

Living foods are plucked, harvested, and squeezed, NOT PROCESSED, PACKAGED and put on shelves.

Living foods are virtually recognizable as food.

NOW, DEAD FOODS ARE THE OPPOSITE OF LIVING FOODS.

Dead foods can be described as living foods that have 'fallen' into human hands and have been ALTERED IN EVERY IMAGINABLE WAY. The alteration of dead foods, make them last as long as possible at room temperature and many times, DEAD FOODS ARE AS ADDICTIVE AS POSSIBLE TO THE CONSUMERS.

Dead foods are usually addictive to their consumers because the manufacturer of such foods add considerable amounts of sugar which could be called 'corn syrup', 'dextrose', 'fructose', 'glucose', 'sucrose', and GENERALLY other foods ending in '-ose'. This is to make such foods SWEET AND IRRESISTIBLE TO MOST PEOPLE.

Dead foods also contain man-made fats, that involve taking various oils and heating them to dangerously high temperatures so that the nutrients die and become reborn as something completely different, usually a dead sludgy substance that is toxic to our bodies. That sludgy substance, which is called 'hydrogenated' or 'partially hydrogenated' oil is a common ingredient in most processed foods (such as crackers, pastries and hamburgers).

When you eat living foods, the enzymes in their pristine state interact with your digestive enzymes.
This makes their natural ingredients (such as vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants fibres and more) divinely put in those foods flow into your system in their NATURAL STATE.

Living foods enhance proper functioning of our digestive systems, bloodstream, and organs.

On the other hand, dead foods hit our bodies like a FOREIGN INTRUDER, no matter how sweet it tastes.

Chemicals in dead foods, which includes preservatives, food addictives, bleaching agents and so on, place a strain on the liver.

Toxic man-made fats in dead foods, begin to form in our cell membranes and become incorporated in our bodies or are stored as bad fats. They then begin to form plaques in our arteries.

It is important to note that GOOD FATS contain a compound called LEPTIN.

When the small intestine detects leptin, it sends a message to the brain saying, 'I am satisfied, I'm full, so stop eating.'
I hope you get the scenario.

However it takes about twenty minutes from the time we start eating for the food we are eating to get to our small intestines.

Until food gets to the small intestine, LEPTIN won't be able to signal the brain to stop eating.

Now here is the problem, most people can eat a tremendous amount of food in twenty minutes. If the food you are eating is 'dead', your brain senses that your body does not have the nutrition it needs, so it sends out more hunger signals.

Therfore you eat again (more of the same dead foods).

Eventually, your body does it's best to harvest the tiny traces of good from the dead food, but in the end you are undernourished, overfed the wrong food and unfortunately overweight.

I hope we get this explanations.

This is why so many people are OVERWIEGHT BUT MALNOURISHED.

If you say, 'everyone around me eats 'dead' food, and they all look fine,' consider that LOOKS COULD BE VERY DECEPTIVE, many of them are actually in the process of becoming overweight and disease-prone.

So many people look fat and fine, but actually most of them are nursing one disease or the other unknown to you, and most often it is usually linked to EATING THE
WRONG FOODS and/or EATING THE WRONG WAY. Trust me.

If you want to be a healthy, vibrant, energetic person, rather than being someone who bounces between 'ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT' buffets and fast-food restaurants, TAKE YOUR DIET MORE SERIOUSLY.

Now is the time to build the REST OF YOUR LIFE on this wonderful pillar of health....LIVING FOOD.

By the way, take note of this: WHEN YOU EAT, CHEW YOUR FOOD THOROUGHLY, PUT YOUR CUTLERY DOWN BETWEEN BITES, AND EAT SLOWLY (NOT TOO SLOW THOUGH). GIVE YOUR BRAIN TIME TO SEND THE 'STOP' SIGNAL TO YOUR BODY.

LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS. (1)

I welcome you specially to another fantastic health series. I want to believe that the previous series I shared about 'STIRRING YOUR BLOOD' was a great read and a powerful boost to your exercise life.

In this new series we would be looking at 'LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS'.

Now imagine you are watching a football match, the name of one of the two teams playing the match is 'LIVING FOODS' while the name of the opposing team is 'DEAD FOODS'. I hope you can get the scenario.

Now, in the 'DEAD FOODS' team, the 'players' are foods that would make you disease-prone, foods that would cause degenerative diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and arthritis, and foods which would make you overweight. The 'DEAD FOODS' team will also make you fatigued and prone to develop hypertension and high cholesterol.

On the other hand, the 'LIVING FOODS' team comprises of 'players' (foods) that would protect your body from cancer, heart disease, all degenerative diseases, and obesity, foods that would sharpen your mind, energize you and enliven you.

Now back to our football match.

LIVING FOODS vs. DEAD FOODS.

Which team do you think would win this imaginary football match?

Now, let me break this down a little, EVERY HUMAN PLAYS THIS IMAGINARY FOOTBALL MATCH and it is up to you to determine who wins this battle. IT IS YOUR CHOICE.

If DEAD FOODS win, then you have opened the floodgates of diseases into your body but if you CHOOSE for the other team (LIVING FOODS) to win then you have made the BEST choice for your health. IT IS YOUR CHOICE, I REPEAT...IT IS YOUR CHOICE.

Once again look at your life and eating habit, WHICH TEAM DO YOU THINK AS BEEN WINNING OVER YOUR HEALTH?

Come to think of this, do you know how many 'trailer' loads of food you have consumed right from the day you were born till now?? I know most of my readers are past their teen years.

Over your lifetime, tons and tons of food pass through your intestinal tract, and are assimilated into your body. The question once again is how much of the foods you eat are living, and how much of them are dead? Answering this question correctly would give you a very good reason why your health (beyond the physical, to your mental and emotional health) is the way it is.

Let us go further, look in your store, pantry, freezer, and fridge. You would find that right now there are some foods that lead to life and some that lead to death right in your home. I won't be surprise if some people reading this are even consuming dead foods RIGHT NOW.

Now, I don't need you to be scared, I just need you to follow me real closely.
I want you to understand that EVERYTHING YOU PUT IN YOUR MOUTH, HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE LIFE OR DEATH.

Food is good for man, in fact it is impossible to survive and thrive without feeding. Yes, food is part of the blessings of GOD, but eating the wrong foods or eating the wrong way, will bring curses of poor health.

It is up to you. Are you enjoying the beautiful dance of hunger and satisfaction that centres around the divine gift of living foods? Or are you at war with your health because of the dead foods you eat?

I want to make it clear from the outset that as more research is done on food and the human body, we will find that some foods may be healthier than we thought while foods we once considered to be healthy may not be as beneficial on the long run as we now think they are.

A speaker once said that 'after ten years, about half the medical knowledge we have learnt turns out to be false'. This just goes further to prove the dynamism of health. Health is not necessarily a CONSTANT...many times it is ever changing.

From time to time, there would always be some confusions regarding foods and their health benefits, but as much as I can in this series, I would educate you to the best of my knowledge and up-to-date research on how to get the best out of living foods and how to really slow down to the bearest minimum the intake of dead foods.

Let me round off this first episode by saying this: no matter the confusions and debates amongst nutritionists and other medical personnels, ONE PRINCIPLE WOULD ALWAYS STAND, and this is the fact that LIVING FOODS such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains, WOULD ALWAYS BE HEALTHIER for you than any processed food such as hotdogs, sharwama and chicken peri peri.
