I'll be recording a podcast with Louise Newson of Newson Health about the survey and proposed book next week. Not sure when it will be up on the Menopause Doctor website, but do look out for it. It's a great website with lots of invaluable info about Menopause, HRT etc.

Does anyone know someone who has used or is using CBD to help with sleep and anxiety? I've had a few survey responses recently from people who are trying it but I'd love to hear more about it. I the concern is that as it's available over the counter it's not regulated, so may very variable, but some people seem to find it really helpful, so it would be interesting to know which brands work the best. Thanks.

Today is world menopause day, and the BMS have launched a series of new films on different aspects of Menopause which can be viewed on Youtube:

The BMS launches video series: ‘The Menopause Explained’
To coincide with World Menopause Day, 18 October, the British Menopause Society has launched a series of seven short videos covering different aspects of the menopause.

These videos can be viewed on our new YouTube channel and they are also available on the BMS website.

Why not give them a try?

If you have ever heard of Louise Newson (the Menopause Doctor) you might be interested to know that I will be recording a podcast about my survey with her in January.
She has lots of vital and interesting info on her website:

Get the most up-to-date information, advice and NICE Guidelines for the menopause and perimenopause from GP and menopause expert, Dr Louise Newson - Menopause Doctor.

It seems even Caitlin Moran is talking about her peri-menopause now! She's 43.
She's suffered from Formication (the sensation of having lots of insects crawling around under your skin), which fortunately isn't something I've experienced, but I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who has??

BMS conference was excellent with great speakers and attended by a large number of health professionals.
There is more and more HRT research going on, and one speaker said the only limitation to how long you can take it for is how long you live!

I'm off to the British Menopause Society conference this week for a day full of lectures on all aspects of menopause and should come home armed with lots of the latest research and info. I'll share anything interesting which comes up.

I've had lots of survey responses from women whose GPs have told them they are 'too young' to go on HRT when they have obvious peri-menopausal symptoms but are around 45 years old. The younger you are when you start symptoms they more important it is to consider HRT in order to protect your heart and bones. If your GP says this to you find a different GP!

Great to see that Menopause has had so much more public discussion recently. Well done BBC! I've been a bit busy with family issues but now back on the case, and off the the British Menopause Society conference next month, which will be interesting I'm sure. Please encourage anyone you know to take part in my survey. I've had around 200 responses so far but could do with many more.

Does anyone else listen to Liza Tarbuck on radio 2 on a Saturday evening? She now has a 'menopausal madness' feature, where women write in and share the dotty things they find themselves doing as a result of menopause! Quite funny, and good to hear these things being normalised.

Thanks to everyone who has completed my survey recently!
It's so interesting hearing about everyone's experiences, and the more responses I can get the better, so please encourage anyone else you know to take part.
I will eventually respond to everyone, but it may take a while!

See this link about Testosterone in women and why should consider replacement therapy during and after menopause.
It's not just about hair and libido!

1 How much and where does it come from?Testosterone is an important female hormone. Healthy young women produce approximately 100 – 400 mcg per day.
